I know my eyes pop out like a little kid or I blush from the heat running through my body and retardant break. This is fine... I don't care. It is more important to acknowledge what was said. Important for relationship as her perception of your attending and in the same place/same time is paramount for her.

It is not cute, shy, chivalrous, or nor "stuck0up" to miss the compliments. And, if you are so dumb as not to open her door after comment, pin that back a little bit, kiss her, and whisper a reminder of how great you are in her ear or neck... It might be time to go join the slice it off and size for a dress team.
