To what extent do you agree with the statement: ‘we’re all secretly criminals that haven’t been caught’?

People always joke around saying we’re all criminals that haven’t been caught but what do you really think? I mean what really separates us from those who either shoplifted and other petty crimes we may have even committed by accident or more serious crimes. Surely we’ve either all committed some form of crime by accident or were close or and can all be victims in the future wrong place wrong time kind of thing?

While I don't necessarily agree that everyone commits a *crime* I think *everyone* has done something *wrong* at some point or other.
Perhaps it's not a crime, sometimes it's just breaking a rule of some kind...
Something that's rude or something, but that doesn't *actually* carry any penalty.


As for punishments...
I don't believe in them.
In my country prisons are designed to mimic parenting, not places to store away people and making them suffer like certain other countries.

In some of our prisons well behaving prisoners (including murderers etc) can even leave the prison at will to attend jobs outside the prison as long as they return to the prison in time for the curfew.

I live in Norway.
The same approach is used in all the nordic countries.
And many countries in the continent are including aspects of it.

What is a crime? Breaking a law? There are so many laws that every single person breaks several every day.

It is technically true. There are so many laws on the books that it is almost impossible to not break at least one. Those laws may not be enforced because it is seen as common sense that they not need be followed, but a law is a law unless a legislative body actively voids it.
