It's an advertisement and their purpose is to appeal to the fantasies of their target audience in order to convince them to buy their product.
The fantasy being shown here is a man having a wife who respects him enough to be willing to make breakfast in bed for him. Granted it's a hyperbolic portrayal of it but that is the basic premise of the fantasy.
The ad is making the argument that in buying their ties, he will earn the respect and affection of a woman they may one day call his wife or a wife who doesn't respect him but now will. In a culture back then and (possibly to a lesser extent) today, a man who is able to earn the respect of a woman (marrying one for example) will also earn the respect of society and those around him so ads like this are very appealing to young men. I would imagine makeup and hair product companies had similar messages back then.
I think a lot of people take this as proof that men literally thought of women as slaves or servants back then because they took this picture at face value. Conclusions like this would make more sense if this was state propaganda but it isn't.
It’s as bad as all the ads, kids shows, teenager shows, social media shows, adult shows, movies, magazine articles, academic articles, court practices, policing practices, as well as legislated quotas in academia, hiring, and advancement are that show men it’s a woman’s world in this era.

There's nothing deep about this.
The only people who would consider this significant now are those who would look at it and go "See? Rigid societal structure (in this case gender roles) were a good thing because people were so much happier!"
Completely forgetting the previous cultural emphasis on ignoring how you actually thought/felt about things in favor of focusing on how "proper" you looked.
So dumbshits, basically.
My girlfriend and I love these kinds of old ads. We live this way and fully support the patriarchy. Men are to rule and women obey.
It was rather the push in those days, to appear as something you're not.
Hence all those spaghetti Westerns showing macho sweaty men shooting each other, when in fact most were gay and unkempt.

It will always be a man's world.
Oh God this is bad. Analytically speaking he's like a king and she’s a servant. In the positioning she’s literally beneath him. The lack of mutual respect is present in this one.
Its a shock ad to get peoples attention. Exists today too with lgbt blm style advertising.
What is that even supposed to mean?
I think we already know it's a man's world.
LoL note that the company no longer exists.
Really, I'm shocked.
Sounds a bit like a sausage party
no thoughts
