Voted B. Indeed, aside from the fact that as I am an American living in America and that such a fall would likely impact my life in a very negative way, it ignores what America has brought to the world and what its' loss would mean.
Suffice to say that the United States is not perfect. It has made many errors at home and abroad. However, imagine a world absent the United States. Imagine the end of World War II or the Cold War without the United States. Indeed, what are the stories of literally millions of people trying to immigrate - legally and not - into the United States telling the world about where it exists in man's moral imagination.
To simply shrug in indifference to the fall of America is to exhibit the most profound ingratitude. It is to show that much is taken for granted and that those who would be indifferent to or even happy about America's fall exhibit the worst in the modern culture. A culture that emphasizes a profound sense of entitlement and a belief that when they do not get what they want when they want that a grotesque injustice has been done.
It also, as alluded to above, shows a profound ignorance of history. For all its mistakes, the United States has been, on the whole, a force for good in the world, both at home and abroad. Indeed, whatever else, the USA, like few other nation's, has demonstrated a profound desire to improve itself. To, in the words of America's founders, "form a more perfect Union."
Perfection is not given to mortal beings. What is given to such beings is that they have the capacity to choose good or evil. Americans do not get it right all the time, but it cannot be disputed that few people, few nations, on Earth, have tried harder and more consistently to debate the nature of right and wrong and to strive to implement it as best fallible beings can.
To take that away from humanity would not just be sad. It would be the harbinger of a new dark age - and it would not be pleasant.

A mix.
the original United States of America already fell centuries ago. Using the same standard of history as other jurisdictions, the U. S. under the 1781 Articles of Confederation would be the 1st republic, while the U. S. under the current 1789 Constitution would be its 2nd republic. The 2nd republic of the U. S.'s replacement is simply inevitable. The only question is "When will it happen?"… & "What will the new form be?".
This has happened all across the globe. How many dynasties has China had? Egypt? Russia? Thailand? And the U. K., the U. S.'s former colonizer? Korea has had 6republics so far. I'm from the Philippines, which is currently on it's 5th.
The ruling-class will always change, but the nation remains… for so long as the shared sense of nationhood remains. A nation is its people, not the government. This should be remembered, and the sense of nationhood must be guarded if the nation is to continue to exist in whatever manifestation.
On the other hand, I don't trust the current rulers, politicians and self-interested "experts" to re-write the new 3rd Constitution with the citizenry's rights reasonably intact & the government sufficiently restrained to chain the powerful from the abuses they want to do.
In a totally different manner: In 1sense, I'm glad to be a dual-citizen of a rising Philippine Republic, so I still have a backup and don't have to be depressed. I've witnessed a 3rd-world nation rise to a newly-industrialized nation, so I know bounce-backs are possible, even for the U. S. But on the other hand, I pledged myself to contributing to the well-being of the Union, so I can't help but feel saddened to see something I care-for deteriorate.
It's a mix of emotions.
I will be shocked and sad if such things happen.
I know what my country owes in gratitude to the United States and its soldiers who died to help liberate it during the two world wars.
Add the American victory during the Cold War. It was better for the world that it was the USA that won this war.
You can also add the enormous contribution of the United States to improving human conditions, through the progress it has made possible through science, technology, medicine, etc.
The USA are not perfect, they made mistakes, for sure. But like my country, and the majority of countries in the world.
You make it sound like it’s that easy for a whole country to crumble. What an irrelevant question smh

Its really hard for me to get happy or sad about it... people in this country deserve better but we act so poorly to each other, and for all your flaunting of education are all pretty stupid idiots. I am just tired of it all... these woke types, LGBTQ, Proud Boys, COVID flip jobs, and god knows what are all sheep ripe for the slaughter.
Open your eyes jack asses, as long as we keep fighting among ourselves they keep winning.I don’t know. I’m not even sure I want to live out my life here. The government is whatever, I don’t pay attention to that no matter who is in charge. It’s more just who our citizens are. I’m not very impressed and I’m not sure I want to spend another four decades around them.
Sad. And it's been falling down for a WHILE now. At the earliest, 2015, but more realistically, since the 90s, at least. I hate to see my country sink like the Titanic. And who exactly is going to replace us as the world superpower? China? Yeah, GOOD LUCK with 100 years of Communism...
Sad. I don't like needless suffering. And while the US is far from perfect, it's currently WAY better than any of the competition for global superpowerdom. No one's in a position to take our place, but of those who eventually COULD, who would you prefer? China?
It won’t fall, if it slips there is no place other than Europe that can really fill the void.
places would like to, however they are mainly places with zero innovation, invention and simply copy.
The world would stall and progress would be really poor.
look at the world since the first industrial revolution or even the 2nd one, where innovation and invention takes place. It's what China wants, and that's why they installed the dumbest American president in history. Our borders are wide open, and terrorists are crossing in. And Fentanyl is flowing across like a river. And Biden appoints an idiotic cackling hen to fix it, but of course China owns her, too, so she just laughs.
It's sad to see what a sorry state it has become, falling to the very same disease it was designed to prevent: tyranny. Our government has joined forces with the corporations to trample on our rights and the economy and no one is being held accountable for any of it.
When the USA falls a massive war will ensue, people around the world will fight for the extreme amounts of untapped resources the USA tried to hide.
from Russia, to China and most of Europe. the end of the USA will be the starting signal for a great war that will ravage this land and its people.Every country is dependant on another. And since the stock market in India is falling because of inflation in the States, I am not feeling good about it.
America isn't falling, America is purging our traitors. The corrupt are trying to burn everything down as they are stripped of wealth and power. You sound like you will hang with them from the sound of it...
Every day i watch America take another step towards oblivion and my heart just breaks at what has happened over the last 18 months. I hope this can be reversed before it is too late.
This whole downturn was engineered from the start... like the people shutting everything down and giving trillions in free money had no clue how it would play out
The USA is already shattered. We're just going through the motions and deciding whether the divorce will be relatively peaceful or bloody.
We are not falling down. One or two bad years doesn’t mean we are falling down. We can recover from this.
Why would I feel sad?
It's the most retarded nation ever created. It's basically a circus masquerading as a country. Not sad but more like disrupted and bothered. I don't want to see America go down.
What's going to replace it? Just chaos not some leftist utopia.
Sad for its innocent citizens. If it was only Trumpists falling, I'd be very happy about it.
The decline of America has been sad but I can't say it's undeserved. Elect clowns, expect a circus.
i look forward to a civil war in which the cause of the division is put to the knife
