I think this is pretty cool. Pageants have many rules and regulations, some very outdated, and I think that was one of the reasons why I quit competing. Yes ya girl used to be a pageant girl. š š»

Good lord, does that thing still exist? I guess it's a good thing, but it seems a bit like debating how many fairies can dance on the head of a pin. I think Ms. America is largely irrelevant.
The last time I devoted a microsecond to watching Miss America was 1993 when the first deaf Miss America was crowned. I noticed it for two reasons. Well, three. 1. I was studying sign language at the time, so the deaf contestant caused a stir in my class (my teacher was deaf and also won a beauty pageant in Florida... I was surprised to see her in a swimsuit). 2. For some reason on a lot of radio talk shows I listened to, there was a big debate about the sexism of the whole institution. And 3, my friend came in from out of town. We had a game night (Republic of Rome! Great game!!!). All the guys gathered in the dining room. My friend's mom, my friend's wife, my friend's girlfriend, and another female friend of mine were gathered in the living room to watch... you guessed it; Miss America. And they were *into* it. Judging. Keeping score. And I noticed the commercials were all for feminine hygiene and beauty products. All of them. That's when it hit me that this institution which so many talk show hosts were deriding as sexist against women, HAD AN ALMOST ENTIRELY FEMALE AUDIENCE. Not one male amongst us could have given a shit.
Is it good it's allowing moms and married women? Sure. Do I care? No.
Mrs. World is the first beauty pageant for married women, conceived in 1984. The concept of the pageant itself has its roots in Mrs. America. From 1984 to 1987, the pageant was known as Mrs. Woman of the World and was changed to Mrs. World in 1988. Over the years, Mrs. World snowballed into the biggest marital pageant in the world and features directors in 80 countries.
Mrs. Globe is an annual international beauty pageant open to women who are over 25, married, or who are parents. The pageant is heavily involved with charity work. Funds are raised for the charity Woman in Need in the over 70 countries which take part in the pageant. It was formed in 1996.
Mrs. Universe is an annual international event for "the most honorable married woman", first organized in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2007. The event is open to married, divorced, and widowed women from nations on all continents around the world, who are between the ages of 18 and 55, have a family and career, and are involved in a "significant cause".
If they are going to include married women in the Miss Universe pageant they will have to change the name sinc Miss refers to unmarried women. On top of that it can't be called Mrs Universe since they already have a pageant called that. Mrs. refers to women who are married or widowed. Guess it would have to be called Ms. Universe which refers to married and unmarried women.
Well I donāt know what to say a 12 years old boy can inject estrogen to be a female even perform a surgery yet a mother or married women whoās mature enough isnāt allowed..
Shame to women who even took part into it for some many years. Why for what? To follow rules set by whom?
Guess what miss word or universe whatever isnāt anymore as it used to be
I can be a miss tomorrow if i want with Instagram lol
You get my point..
Perhaps they should name it Miss or Mrs. Universe. It is their organization, so they can do whatever they wish. Although no one wins unless they are very pretty, it is not really a beauty contest anyway and hasn't been for a couple or decades.

It was a gross case of discrimination not to. Seen some the requirements for these pagements both beauty, brains, talent and wit, the perfect trophy wife for a millionaire but I can't understand who watches them and how they are funded. With the swim suit event gone what's the point, better off watching women's sports.

So, thanks to the movie āNeighbors 2: Sorority Risingā, i learned that some universities donāt allow sororities the same privileges as fraternities. Itās not as pervasive as some may suggest, but even if thereās only one in the entire country, thatās pretty frigginā weird! Right?
I understand that some rules, regulations and even laws just kind of get ignored forever and thatās how we get into the 21st century with this kind of bizarre nonsense.
But i donāt know anything about pageantry. Has this rule been ENFORCED? Has no mother or wife EVER been allowed to compete, for real?
Used to be a case that if a woman wasn't a virgin she couldn't compete. These events are from
A very good thing.
Just because they are married, and have kids, should not mean they are not allowed to participate in the competitions they would be allowed to if they were single.
This move, assures that marriage is not something like a full stop for your own ambitions. A very crucial step in changing the mindset of girls toward marriage.
These contests used to be based on looks and some personality. Now itās whatever whoever whenever. Even ātransā women can compete in some of these.
You know do what you want. Wives and moms alright. But viewership tanks it should be a neon sign that most people donāt want this. Just give people what they want.
On one hand, it breaks the stereotypes "once you're married or have kids, your life ends". On another, it sets a standard on how wives and mothers should look.
Either way, heterosexual men, bisexuals and lesbians win.
Meh, zero f**ks given. I don't see the big deal. If you are hot, you are hot, doesn't matter if you are a mother, grandmother or hell, even great grandmother. If you have it like that, more power to you. Some people age better than others. Hell, look at Kate Beckinsale. She is 50 years old and I would date her over 95% of the younger 20 year olds I see.
That is true, Beckinsale is so hot but she is going around fucking tons of young guys now. Disgusting.
That's no big deal when a lot of mothers these days are in their teens. They even have pageants for kids.
Milf universe? I can't wait until a transgender wins it
If they're good looking, it doesn't matter. It would be a bit of a miracle if you had children and looked better than all those girls who didn't. But it's not about the fact that you had a child in my opinion. Just about beauty.
Fine with me.
I met a Miss Universe once (yes, the tournament winner) and she was very attractive, which was weird because I worked with her mom who looked like a troll and had a personality to match.
Never knew or cared. As long as this doesn't lead to sexist battles like allowing trans kids, moms, husbands, lgbt, whatever to participate.
sure they can enter... but can they win? will they LET them win? that is another issue...
You're pretty dumb then, as it means they will be able to allow trans women on there next.
Let's see how many "biological" men enter the contest 😂😂😂😂
It's great, I don't know why they weren't letting them before... it was pointless
I don't see why they shouldn't be permitted, on that same token, I strongly dislike all beauty pageants.. So there is that.
Does that include women from other planets⦠since itās universe?
All good
Google works wonders.
Waiting for the day when the women from āMy 600 Pound Lifeā win Miss Universe. Itāll be here before you know it.
Why was this not always so? Itās a beauty pageant. Are moms and wives devoid of beauty?
Glad the rules changed.
I never cared about those. Those contests are nothing more than just a popularity contest like in high school except magnified. Most beautiful is extremely subjective.
