Is the "Alpha male" aura a subconscious thing?

I disagree with the other guy, I think it depends on your social circle. A star athlete may be the alpha male in his domaine, but once outside it, he must assume a beta male position. Think about it, in high school; depending on your social group, some girls tend to gravitate towards the most popular athletic good looking guy, but afterward, when it's time to perform in the real world, earning potential/education, and financial stability play a much bigger roll. Girls then inturn gravitate towards the male who would be the most viaable candidate for rearing offspring. in the real world which we can consider to be a domaine, the alpha male is the one with the brains and the insight to plan ahead. In my opinion I think it changes through out life. :D
Yes. After I posted this, I found other like questions here. It was eye opening. Everything the women posted I had been doing, I just didn't think if it as alpha male traits but apparently they do. Hard working, driven, confident, compassionate, good provider, etc etc.
You may be associating traits which are classically considered alpha male traits. Deep voice, strong, athletic, natural born leader, dominant. I think it's very true that those traits are alpha male, but you should also take into account the decisions that we aren't conciously or immediatly aware of.
i think alpha is something which you ARE and not try to be...
deep voice, leader of men, great socially are some of the traits I can think of
Thanks, I tend to believe that too. Too bad everybody wants alpha males, not enough to go around!
Yeah I think so, although most people can tell. I think who a person is to the majority of people can be seen in their demeanour. It's not all about being tall and muscular (although it may help), I think is has to do with their confidence and their presence when with other people.
