I spent literally 5 minutes reading the first article that came back from a search for 'IRS 87000' and this whole thing is cleared up, no mystery, no conspiracy, the story here is about the cutting of the workers previously, not their reinstatement.

Now sure you can get a little excited about politically motivated tax investigations if you want too, that shouldn't be happening EITHER but the fact remains that if you haven't done anything wrong then you aren't going to have a problem with an audit.

(I am not making an argument which says if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear because people shouldn't be investigated unreasonably, as i have already stated (politcally motivated investigation is bad) but this isn't an army of stormtroopers kicking in peoples doors and dragging their crying children out of their homes.)

If you have an issue with the skills shortage then the correct position to take up would be the one against the cutting of the workers in the first place, but of course you are not capable of doing such a thing because that would go against your party line.

In the United States the police are involved in whatever their superior tells them to be and frequently things they’re not told to do as well. Training videos of the new IRS agents show them wearing Kevlar that says police on it. If a government official shows up and put a gun in my face for failing to report my 601st dollar over in income yes I consider that being a thug.

Police in the United States are frequently tasked with serving bench warrants for delinquent tax accounts. If you owe the government money you better bet police will show up at your door after a certain amount of time which varies between different jurisdictions. If you owe another citizen who is not a government official money, it might take a while, but very eventually a warrant for arrest will be issued when the injustice system gets around to it. Either of which qualifies for involvement in debt collection, once it enters the legal system.

Right, so as the link you posted clearly states, if you do find yourself in a position where you owe the taxman money you can pay that money back in installments etc, they dont imediately come round and kick your door in.

Use all the taxes they are lining their own pockets with or spending on unconstitutional programs such as welfare or ExIm bank. If the corruption, graft, nepotism and money laundering, and waste, even that which is known (the true extent will never be known) were redirected towards what it is allegedly being collected for we would not only be shocked and amazed at the budget surpluses but could likely lower tax rates. An entire city infrastructure is cheaper than a greedy politician’s will to self enrichment is to fix. At every level from town to city to county to state to federal everyone in government gets their cut of the action, and/or wastes more after that. The solution is not armed robbery of the peasants in ever escalating amounts until the republic collapses under the weight of aristocratic greed, but solving the issues I have outlined above and gazing in awe at the wealth and prosperity which is revealed to already exist.
