1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Cheer! But look at the opinions. One who said there was no insurrection, which is a lie and did not even refer to the question of being convicted for espionage. Another who claims it is unconstitutional to arrest someone who has committed crimes (I guess you have to have NOT committed crimes to be arrested according to his constitution. And after Trump stole records that were to have gone to the National Archives, and lied about what he took, and took nuclear secrets that could gravely endanger the US and others, he an his attorney said all the records had been returned, and a couple of days later a whole shit load more are found. definitely a bunch of nut jobs supporting him.

+1 yI wouldn't do anything. It would be our justice system in action.
But no one needs to worry... it will never happen. If anything, he'll get slapped with a small fine and told he did a bad thing by not properly handling sensitive government documents, and all those documents will go into the National Archives, where they should have gone originally.

+1 yCome to the realisation that democracy is dead and the democrats are using agents of the federal government like the nazis did with the SS, gestapo and other federal agencies in nazi Germany to lock up, murder intimidate and silence all political opponents and dissenters.
10 ReplyWell... to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if he got indicted. I would be surprised if he got convicted though. It's pretty obvious to me that the way Trump has been treated by the DOJ is nothing short of criminal.
I'm interested to see what happens this November, because it will determine whether Garland gets what he has coming to him.

His incarceration would have been 55 years too late.

For the past six years we have seen repeated false accusations against Trump debunked. Ask yourself this- what is the federal statute you are claiming he'll be indicted for breaking and how many other people have been charged under this statute?
It's time to investigate all these false accusations and prosecute those who made them.

@UCrayCray; I'd be a bit more impressed if you were calling for Hillary Clinton to be charged. But the facts of Lavarello's case aren't anywhere near the same as the circumstances surrounding the documents Trump held:
www.khon2.com/.../
It's very lazy to try to conflate two very different cases. Lavarello also did not have any authority to declassify documents. - +1 y
@UCrayCray:, This happens all the time- you think because some other person got charged under a statute that clearly is not applicable to Trump, that he should be too. They can’t charge him with it, and the one she got charged with is in that article so you can see what it is and realize it’s not applicable to him.
Do you see why he can’t be charged with it? - +1 y

It's not a criminal proceeding. COTUS doesn't have that power. The impeachment proceedings are to vote on whether or not what they did is enough to remove thrm from office. The impeachment investigation is where they investigate whether or not he did something that warrants impeachment. Nixon, Clinton, and Trump did. It doesn't mean that they were impeached, but they did what they were accused of.
- +1 y
It does mean that they did what they're accused of. The question is whether or not their actions make them unfit to be POTUS. Neither Trump nor Clinton were viewed to be unfit for office based on what they did. Nixon resigned because he knew that if he waited for the vote in Congress, he'd lose.
I'd be skeptical. Like him or not, I struggle to believe that he packed his own boxes and went through the papers himself when leaving the White House. He probably feels he's too important to spend his time on things like that.

Wouldn't surprise me if the FBI had those documents before they even raided the place and pulled them out from their jacket and claimed Trump had them.

+1 yI figure if you get your hands caught in the cookie jar you need to pay the consequences and receive the punishment handed out. I have no sympathy for any person. It gets his hands caught in the cookie jar. All public figures lie and cheat when they get to that point. Mr Trump is a shrewd businessman. I know several people that despise him before he was president. President Biden will not pardon him because the trial will not happen until after Biden leaves office.
10 Reply 1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Indite Hilary Clinton for the classified emails she had on her personal server at home. She was not the president so she could not declassify them and as emails could have been hacked and gotten. At least the files Trump took was at his house where you would have to break in to get them.
00 Reply553 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. My question would be why did they wait so long (midterms) to do anything? With issues like record high inflation, gas prices, struggling to put food on the table they are more focused on moving backwards vs forward to address the current issues that voters want answers to
00 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Honestly, I've never seen a guy commit so many crimes so publicly and not get arrested for it just because he makes hateful people feel validated while giving hateful people's money to rich people.
10 Reply3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I would be finally relieved if the Democrats could legitimately find something to arrest Trump for. If they can’t find something to stick. Knock it off and do something for the taxpayers! Instead of wasting out tax money.

+1 yMaybe I'll put on a antifa costume and very peacefully protest.
10 ReplySimply not happening. It is impossible for the DOJ to prove that he did not declassify everything when he took it. And, no, a POTUS is not REQUIRED (due to a 1987 decision by SCOTUS) to follow any specific procedure for doing so.

120 Reply- +1 y
Mentally ill how?
- +1 y
@Agagagagaga well he was given a test for mental competence. He passed. The whole "man, woman..." thing he bragged about. Thing is, he's the only president where there was a question of mental competence, so he's the only one who took the test. Obviously there's something wrong with him.
- +1 y
@exitseven he may have, but didn't brag about passing it, which most people wouldn't brag about. Also he may have taken one a while ago, just not recently.
- +1 y

@msc545 I know you have a background in psychology but can you honestly tell me that this guy is all there?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETmlD0l4T3Y - +1 y
@exitseven I have more than a "background" - I am a Ph. D. Neuropsychologist. As for him being "all there", I have no idea and thus no opinion since I have not examined him. Neither have you, presumably. So to keep repeating he has dementia, etc., is simply wrong.
- +1 y
@exitseven thanks.
- +1 y
@exitseven Trump has enough overt flagrant behavior to make mental illness highly probable. Trump's illnesses probably consist of an affective disorder and a personality disorder. Biden has some behavior that may or may not indicate the presence of a neurocognitive disorder, which is not as easily diagnosed, and which requires an actual examination. My index of suspicion with Trump is much higher simply because it is easier to see what is going on; with Biden, it is lower because of the inaccessibility of the requisite symptoms without an exam.
- +1 y
@msc545 They keep Biden hidden away as much as possible so people cannot see that he is mentally compromised. He would not take the same test that the democrats demanded Trump take. That to me speaks volumes.
You f]are full of bull when you say Trump has Affective Disorder or overt flagrant personality. He has a huge ego and is bigger than life. It is not a sign of mental illness.
At least Trump is smart enough to know that global warming is a hoax, that printing money causes inflation, importing poor people lowers the standard of living for everyone, China is not out friend and that when you make something scarce it becomes more expensive. That is the kind of mental acuity we need in a leader. - +1 y
