It's a footage which made me sad, this guy didn't deserve to die but on the other hand the man told him that he's armed and thay he's going to shoot if he doesn't go away, also the boy is trespassing a private property and not in a friendly way, he seems that he wants to break in by force, the boy should have been wiser and knowing that hia actions might lead into a bad ending and that's what happened...
Why would an ex comes to a family house trying to break in by force? How is it possible for the father to know if the guy is insane and armed while we all know that the man is responsible of his family's safety
Violence will bring violence and i feel sorry for the kid but let's put ourselves in the place of the father, what would have we done?
Tnx for the mho

Let's see... ex boyfriend? Check. Breaking into someone's house to get to someone else is not only showing intent but also violence? Check. Appropriate to try and talk someone like that down? Probably not. How long before the police that are already stretched thin as is with anti police rhetoric and violence arrive? No telling.
Bottom line, this guy forfeited his life the second he tried breaking in. Not rocket science. You don't want to get shot in the face, especially in a state that allows castle doctrine? Don't break into someone's house. Simple as that.
Upon solely watching the video the man who shot him should be found guilty of murder.
You don't get to shoot someone dead because they are breaking down your door in the daylight, nevertheless, context matters.
Did the victim make pervious threats of harming or going over the house to kill, did he say he was going to kill them once he entered the house before being shot?
All this should heavily influence wheather the shooting was justified or not?
Nevertheless, the shooter solely from the video looked like he just wanted to shoot the guy dead just to murder him.
Castle law gives people the right to use deadly force against someone breaking their your home.
Based on the video I was surprised it was even taken before a grand jury.

A shooting like the one I linked above I could understand, but not this Ohio one. But even still, a grand jury decided not to charge him. In Texas they don't fuck around. If someone says get off my property you had better get off or else you'll be eating led.
Ok..
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy Well thats the thing. It was on his own property he is allowed to go in and bring out a gun its completely legal there was no law broken by him doing that. And then the other guy got in his face and said he was going to take it from him and shoved him. And that was after he had given him multiple notices to leave the property so at that point he was trespassing.
He even fired a warning shot which did not deter him. From a legal stand point there is a strong self defense claim.(which a grand jury agreed with and charged him not) But from a moral one there is not.
You have a point. The guy with the green shirt was a major idiot too.
It's a very sad video but in this day and age how did the family know what would happen if he would have managed to break his way in? They couldn't be sure he didn't have a gun. Those situations are always going to be tough calls, but that is what makes stalking and harrasing so dangerous, not just for the person being stalked or harrassed but also the one doing it.
Yes. The key word being "break-in".
Had he been just shot in the street, threatening to break in, there would be a case to answer.
The fact he was shot after the break-in, means no case to answer.
This shooting is absolutely justified. He was asked and told to leave. Had he stayed on the porch the police would have been called and he would have been charged with unlawful trespassing. Instead he attempted to break into the house in broad daylight. At that point the homeowner was justified in feeling that he and his family was in grave physical danger which allows you to use physical up to deadly force.
I Personally think all store and property owners should deal with situations like this. Never try to enter someone’s house without permission unless you wanna die. But my issue is his loss of life for a dumb crush.
Looks reasonable. A was committing a home invasion.
Seems quite likely that it was. Men who stalk their former lovers are extremely unpredictable.
Good to know there are still some good fathers out there
Since jury voted 8-1 against indictment, then would say "no."
They must know more facts than folks on GAG.
Don't wanna get hit, don't break in.
100% justified.
