Because we openly cry and have a menstrual cycle that affects us we are labelled more emotional, some of that is just biology and its not true emotion. I feel women mostly are able to channel and process their emotions in a different way to men. We handle pressure in more positive ways and share and seek help. I think men can be extremely emotional and sensitive, and even more so than women, it's just expressed differently or held in. I think their ways of expression are mostly through glorifying violence, sex, sport, etc. Men still have a problem owning that they are emotional. They veiw it as a weakness. They think it undermines their masculinity. They still have that macho stigma. Statistically more men are depressed, committing suicide and committing heneous crimes. Some are just tapped in the head but I think a lot of them are wrecked emotionally.

Plus since women initiate the majority of divorces, they're the ones breaking up the family unit, not men, with 'no-fault' divorce providing quite an incentive..

"Oh, women shouldn't be expected to stay in abusive marriages..." says those who try like hell making any behavior they don't like to officially be labeled 'abuse'. Women initiate 80% of divorce, meanwhile 80% of alimony is paid to women from men. What a coincidence. And family court/divorce lawyers can't wait to hear women utter the word 'abuse'. The Silver Bullet... what's the Silver Bullet? It's a tactic divorce lawyers use to nearly guarantee women will get at least full custody of kids - saying their husbands were physically abusive to her and their kids, even if untrue. Some lawyers actively coach this approach.

A female friend of mine told me her divorce lawyer, a woman, suggested it to her - just the allegation of the act would be enough. My friend said no such abuse ever happened. She was told it didn't matter, and if she wanted full custody of her kids it was the way to go. My friend, dumbfounded, asked if a lot of women do this. What do you think the answer was? She said even her opinion of women changed that day.
