It seems like women are less happy in marriage and have less to benefit from marriage than men. And we need to figure out the reason why.

One of the biggest reasons why women are so unhappy with marriage is because it is the women who need to juggle working a job, do the bulk of housework and child rearing duties. Women are also the " chefs" and the "maids" and the "official parent" of the house.

Its really not unheard of for a woman to be constantly cleaning after her husband. Society doesn't have as many expectations for men as they do for women. All a man has to do is to finish his 8-hour shift then come home. His role is finished. There isn't a heavy societal expectation for men to prioritize being a parent or to do housework. And often men are lazier and dirtier than women. Men lay in their own filth while woman who likes to be clean and organized. I think we really to nail the reasons why women are so unhappy in marriage rather than to point fingers. Marriage takes a bigger toll on women than men.

I am just going to make a statement based on my observations. In general, men DO NOT fare well in the US Family Courts. Even when they get a fair judge 90% of the time said judge won't enforce their orders. I know many stories about deadbeat fathers. One such father came close to getting hurt some time ago. The problem is I know just about as many moms who have some form of a Cluster B mental disorder. Go back and study the Chad Read killing and you will see at its heart was a child visitation argument. His ex according to some witnesses was playing 3 card monte with the child. Chad lost his temper and did something really foolish that cost him his life. The problem with the court system is that most of the actual work is done before things go to court.

Hence why you should get the most experienced lawyer you can afford, instead of the cheapest.

For example one of colleagues at a contract was lining up for divorce and wanted to keep her kids. One my friends is a top tier lawyer and I asked him - she probably couldn't afford him, anyway. But he gave me the advice to pass on to her and she followed to a T. Got her kids and her ex husbands lawyer got her settled out of court as she could have taken a lot more, in court.
