Why do Russians always seem to be jealous of people who dont work?

Is it the effects of communism? I noticed this amongst most of them.

Not by any way saying other races/nationalities aren't hardworking so don't get triggered

Russian guy I worked with hated everyone and everything. Complained about country he was in saying it wasn’t a real country. Didn’t understand western humour interpreted it like a challenge to fight. Generally acted like a macho douchebag all the time. He fought in Afghanistan when Russia invaded.

In Soviet Union (and in overall countries behind the Iron Curtain) there was a rule: "Doesn"t matter if you stand or lie - you deserve 2000".

Because there was a communism, and even if you didn't work you would still get money. There were fictional jobs just to make 0% unemployment in statistics.

I know but it's not soviet union any more. But seems like still they have this mindset :)😕

You can't eradicate it quickly. It changed Eastern Europe culture for a very long time if not forever.

I've been around Russians some and I never heard that complaint from them. My father, who speaks Russian, says the same.

Everyone that pays taxes…isn’t jealous, we’re resentful of the leeches in society that don’t contribute. It’s not just Russians
