It is a "sanctuary" but it's still horrible for them to receive this large amount of migrants. I am a Democrat (so I am not a threat to democracy like Republicans are according to the president) and I think Republicans are wrong for just shipping migrants

Texas has shipped to NY and DC and I think it's dumb. Texas gets more than 1,200 a day so it's silly to ship them out

Since our great president Biden (bless his soul) came in we have enjoyed our open border where lots of good workers come in to fill the open jobs, and that's much needed here in the united states

Are you kidding? The locals just kept them confined to some place so that they knew whare they were. The next day the national guard came and took them off the island on the freight boat. They couldn't even be on the same boat with the tourists. Then they started a fund for future illegals. @exitseven I don’t know, man, my understanding is that they moved them to an Air Force base on the mainland where they could be properly cared for, plus, since this was all a political stunt done in bad faith and with no genuine effort to help these people, there was no heads up given to Martha’s Vineyard, the state, anyone. It was supposed to be a “gotcha!” moment, but it failed as the migrants were met with kindness and decency that any human from any country deserves, no matter how they get wherever they are. Now I feel like we’re getting spin-zoned to create the illusion that Martha’s Vineyard said “UGH! IMMIGRANTS!”, yet that’s not at all what happened.

Also worth mentioning that these people were lied to and told they’d get jobs and expedited naturalization status, but DeSantis was like “SIKE! You’re actually subhuman because you’re a brown person from outside of America, we don’t give a shit what happens to you, I'm just going to use you as a prop to take attention away from my party’s WILDLY unpopular stance and actions about abortion that even many conservative women oppose, so let’s get everyone refocused on their racism and xenophobia coming into midterm season.” I’d understand the point of someone was like “hey, Martha’s Vineyard, next month we’re sending you a bunch of Venezuelan refugees” and preparations could have been made, but again, this was a bad-faith political stunt, not a genuine effort to help anyone or manage a situation. And Martha’s Vineyard is entering the off-season, it’s all about tourism there, so there are no jobs to be had, and housing is very limited there, so you can’t just drop people off there and act like it’s helping, but again, this was never an act based on good moral character and helping anyone.

Here are a few things that you don't know about the situation...
The migrant surge started as soon a Biden became president. Huge caravans of migrants marched for the US border and they claimed that Biden invited them! The southern border states, Texas, Arizona, and Florida are Republican-leaning states, and the democrats purposefully opened the border so that these migrants could overwhelm them.

Guess what? The democrats started secretly transporting migrants from the southern border to other Republican states BEFORE the Republicans did it! The Biden administration arranged for secret plane flights of migrants to different Republican states in the middle of the night. Look that up! So how can you have a problem with the Republicans doing the exact same thing?

These migrants were met by groups of democrat volunteers, who gave them a pamphlet that explained how to blend in and how to get assistance. They were also told, of course, that eventually, laws would change to allow them to vote, which is the whole purpose of this. These people were told that if the mean old Republicans ever get back in the White House again, they would round them all up and deport them , and separate them from their children and put them in cages like dogs. So naturally, these migrants are terrified of Republicans! Biden has so far allowed over 2 million migrants to walk into the country with no documentation! Many of these people have diseases that we have eradicated already. None of them were checked for Covid or anything else. Just last year, while many people couldn't work a job or travel without a covid shot, the migrants that were temporarily detained, were released without even being checked!

Right now, Fentanyl is being brought in by these migrants in incredible amounts. Thousands of Americans are dying each day due to this drug and it is all because of the open-border policy. The democrats are ok with this, because those migrant votes are what is important to them, to achieve their goal of a one-party, Socialist government, which is their goal.

Is it okay? Well it all depends honestly on your point of view in regards to what makes something "OK" to you. Its not illegal so I guess that makes it okay... I for one think its a little childish, but funny as hell at the same time. So yes, I am okay with it.

What I am not okay with is; that there is a right way and wrong way to immigrate to this country... and if they are not doing that through a legal port of entry... and Dems are so insistent on allowing them to stay even in a holding cell then it should not be on the border states to have to house and maintain these people. But all these blue states have these ideologically kind hearts, but they are afforded that privilege, because they are not the ones having to directly deal with it. They are passively promoting illegal immigration. I am all for legal immigration... but illegals need to be turned away, period end of story.

All of the issues that places like Chicago are facing now due to immigrants being sent there are issues that boarder states like Texas and Arizona are constantly dealing with. Yes the number of immigrants has retched up under Biden. But it's not a a new issue. Your boarder states have been dealing with the same problems for many years.

Also the officials crying foul are the ones that also pushed for being sanctuary cities. So it's also a case of not being careful what you wish for.
