Politically, I lean liberal at a modest level.

I'm willing to be open minded about policy, change outdated laws and polices and move forward but religiously I'm extremely conservative regarding the Bible.

The Bible, I believe is God's inspired word and not subject to change under any circumstances.

Maybe in theory. I consider myself a Conservative Republican. I'm very much a Capitalist. I believe in the free market. I believe in small gov't and that it's only role is Regulate when the free-market is unable or unwilling to do it itself. Democrats are NOT my enemy. But I do feel that the democratic ideology promotes laziness. I believe EVERYBODY should always give thier best. Now here's where it kind of falls apart. I feel like the blessed duty is to be thier brothers keeper.

In a perfect world this works unfortunately we do NOT live in a perfect world. I still don't think we need to rob from the rich to give to the poor. I'm not in favor of socialism. But I have been known to back what some would called socialized programs.

My main beef with democrats is thier wastefulness (I'm not giving Republicans a pass here either). Our gov't my it's very nature is a bloated bureaucracy. It wastes a dollar to spend a dime. I don't mind money being spent that ACTUALLY get to the people who need it.

They are not inseparable if you have the faintest Biblical understanding or not for that matter. In the case of the Christian, we are to follow both the inerrant and infallible Word of God exactly. That means participate and submit in and to Government.
For any person their religious beliefs (Christianity, Secular Humanists, Muslims, Atheists, Jews, Buddhist Hindu etc) have distinct effects on an individual’s behavior. Likewise, religious beliefs are inherently bound-up with a candidate policy shaping worldview.
The most important thing to remember is “the king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will (Proverbs21:1). And ultimately, “for here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that comes (Heb 13:14).” And, “our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20).”

No, it’s why we have separation of church and state. Religion is your personal faith but it doesn’t necessarily need to guide public policy. Laws should reflect the will of the majority and be guided by the constitution, not what’s written in a religious text. For instance, my faith tells me that same sex marriage is not valid in God’s eyes. However, the equal protection clause guarantees everyone equal treatment under the law, so I support it’s legality. My faith can guide my actions but it shouldn’t guide someone else through force of government.

It depends on the religion, what it regards as moral and immoral and where you live. If you claim to follow a certain religion but ignore much of its teachings because you disagree with the morality it pushes, I think maybe you should reconsider your faith in it.

They can, and should, be different, in most cases. Religion is a private personal belief, while politics involves public perception and opinion. An elected politician, for example, should follow their constituents, not their own personal opinion. Not all politicians get that though.

They are two different things. I think religion is more about emotion and faith while politics is more about logic and policy. I am somewhat mixed in both religion and politics, but I still lean more towards Christianity and Conservative policies. So mine align with each other to an extent.

There should be some overlap. Example, a Catholic may not push to abolish abortion through the power of government, but the should never promote abortion either.

Protestants should show mercy, but also be ferm with just laws. The should also protect people's rights to worship God in the way that is best for them, such as Seventh Day Adventists, should not be looked down on because they worship on Saturday Sabbath with Jewish people. So as long as there is no harm (like some pagan religions practice) they should avoid making religions laws. Laws that protect religion, but not enforce religion.

The only difference between republicans and Democrat methods is republicans get better long term results. Whereas Democrats tend to drive Most of them out of the state or into permanent dependency, having missed the fable about teaching men to fish.

Your not really caring for the poor if you don't monitor their condition and persist in ineffective or actually even harmfully methods of helping improve their condition.

@Hispanic-Cool-Guy Of course Republicans care for the poor, they are in fact the most generous in giving to charity, and working out practical systems to deal with and help such people. Their focus is to get them into jobs able to afford to support themselfs and a family while working their way up the economic latter.

Republicans do this by keeping the barriers to employment and the cost of living down as much as they can. But they also support practical results giving charity where individuals who care can help identify and address individuals real problems.

We don't support a welfare state because it not only robs me people of their motivation to contribute to society, thus trapping them in poverty.
It also in its costs and their lack of contributions raising the cost of living for everyone else making for more truly poor in need of help.

The welfare state presuppose that there are people who truly can't support themself, in any case in which this is true, such a person also shouldn't be living on their own.
If you can't do a job then you also can't take care of yourself.

Frankly I personalty struggle to understand how anyone having observed human nature could disagree with Benjamin Franklin on the issue of the dole.

How is it rational to expect that doing so much to pay people to remain poor rather than working to freeing them and leading or driving them into some kind of job would not ever more "poor" and fewer working? Which is exactly what we see to day and Franklin observed back in the 18th century. Human nature does not change.

I know this sounds harsh to a leftist but what has been created in the last 80 years under the ever more expansive Dole is what we find quite harsh for the poor.

I don't think immigrants should be treated badly, I'm a immigrant myself (legal) but I don't think anyone just can violate by entering into other people's territory and nation without legal documentation and cry they are being discriminated against though they don't belong in that territory to begin with.
