I am older than you and can remember when it wasn't like this. I worked at a college and 20 years ago black and white kids all sat together in the cafeteria. Over the last 10-12 years the black kids sit on one side and the white kids sit on the other. I can feel the tension when I walk through there. I would not be surprised if ther e was a big fight there someday. i don't know how to fix this.

My mom and pop met because white kids and black kids sat seperated from each other 20+ years ago, and they had race fights all the time and because they had to sit at 1 table they met.

It is a matter of prospective and where you live and how you respond to people that are different from you.

My ms and hs we were all fine, we all got along and we all were friends eventhough most parents tried to keep us separated because that's how they wanted it.

But we refused to continue that cycle of not caring.

College evenless racism because we talk to eachother and listen to each other and willing to understand our experiences of what we went through because of our race has shaped us.

We don't act like we should mock or take offense to someone telling us something that another race doesn't see.
We take the time to go I'm not white, or I'm not black so maybe this is why i don't see or experience these issues.
We don't dismiss it, or accuse them of playing the vicitim, or being racist.

We don't verbally attack a cause someone believes in, we don't call their social activists of being terrorists because the news will biasly only show things to make them look bad.
We listen to see what make them believe in a cause.

30+ years ago i have people in my hometown and my college town talk about how they had to run through neighborhoods because they were black and it was a white neighborhood and vice versa.

The whole white people and black people got along before social media thing isn't something i believe.

Plenty of eye witnesses and people who have first hand encountered both my college town and hometown of black people moving into a white neighborhood and getting bullied into moving out.

Every night having windows broken. Car tires cut.

Their house painted go back to where you belong.

Police waiting outside their house just to pull them over almost everyday.

There an older white guy in his 60's who brags about to this day how he chased a black family out his neighborhood for living there and said "back in my day we wouldn't have allowed these n words to live here.
White people have gotten soft, we would beat them if they dared come in our neighborhood."
I'm sorry we get along far better now then 30 years ago.
It's the older people who are getting worked up about things going on and feeling like things are falling apart, because they had more control over the media and aren't used to more than one side of the white/black conversations.
