Eventually most people buy a house. But most people rent before that. I don't remember the actual number for ownership, but I think it's very roughly in the 2/3 range.

You have to be careful with the word ownership though. All the numbers I've seen actually mean they live in a family owned house. So everyone in the household would be counted.

In the US the home ownership rate is not nearly as high as some other counties. But it's comparing apples to oranges. In some countries with very high home ownership rates, multiple generations live in the same house. The houses get passed from generation to generation. It's hard to directly compare that to places where each generation tends to move out and eventually buy their own home.

Two thirds of the population here in Australia are home owners/buyers.
It is the desire of almost everyone to own their own home.
The traitors in the political class here, who are puppets of the likes of Klaus Schwab, have spent decades making it ever less affordable for ordinary working people to buy a home. Eventually, ordinary workers will be priced and regulated out of home ownership.

Since Canada is so damn massive, that varies from place to place. Where I live, renting and buying are both expensive and it’s all a crapshoot. I would say it’s in between.

I don't know honestly but my home was built under the direction of my parents. We lived in rent before my sister took birth.
