The objective of the operation, which took place in the same vicinity as Operation Anaconda, and was the largest since that March 2002 mission, was to capture remaining Taliban and al-Qaeda forces rumored to be working in the region.

10/04/04: Afghan villagers carry completed ballot boxes during a retrieval mission to remote regions of the country in Qalai Qalan, Afghanistan. About 17 ballot boxes,15,000 ballot papers and election material was flown by helicopter to the hard to reach areas for election day.
