9/19/01: Eight days after 9/11, CIA officers pick up $3 million cash in three cardboard boxes. This money would enable the Northern Alliance (NA) commanders to pay their troops and convince other tribes to rally to the NA rather than fight them.

9/11/02: A detachment of the 82nd Airborne Division stands at attention before a U. S. flag flying at half-mast at an afternoon ceremony September 11, 2002 at Orgun-e forward base in Afghanistan. The ceremony marked the one-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

2/21/03: Mine victim Abdullah, 10, blinded and severely injured from the explosion, is comforted by his mother in the children's ward of the Emergency-Surgical Center for War Victims in Kabul, Afghanistan.

6/02/03: US soldiers of the 82nd Airborne leading Afghan prisoners suspected of being Taliban part of al-Qaeda forces during Operation Dragon Fury in the Shahi Knot mountains in eastern Afghanistan. The objective of the operation, which took place in the same vicinity as Operation Anaconda, and was the largest since that March 2002 mission, was to capture remaining Taliban and al-Qaeda forces rumored to be working in the region.

10/04/04: Afghan villagers carry completed ballot boxes during a retrieval mission to remote regions of the country in Qalai Qalan, Afghanistan. About 17 ballot boxes,15,000 ballot papers and election material was flown by helicopter to the hard to reach areas for election day.

America never had a legitimation to go to afghanistan and i'm disgusted at my own country and the entire EU for not boycotting this pariah state. invading and "fighting al-quaida" for 20 years, killing countless innocent people in the process, leaving the al-quaida to rule the country anyway in the end... i don't know what's more of a disgrace. that the USA did that or that the international community didn't sanction USA for doing that and instead even helped out...
