Some say they lack the individual charm of hand-dug burrows and feel corporate inside. But do you think they would solve the homeless problem in your area?

The outer appearance of hobbit holes is appealing. They have a safe, secure and cozy air. Their main appeal is novelty, whimsy, and cuteness.
They are also environmental. And they blend in with the landscape.
Fresh air, sufficient light, and heat would have to be considered. As with any shelter, they also need water, energy and sewage.
I'm not sure if they are "the solution" to homelessness. But if they are inexpensive to build, they might be one of many alternatives.
it might help reduce homeless numbers. But I don't think it's a magic bullet that will fix the issue. Because it is a complex issue and in some ways can very much show how complex people can be. We have this weird ability to adapt to a negative situation and prefer it over something else. So there are people who are homeless by choice and would quickly turn a hobbit hole down in favor of living on the street. Like some people outright refusing to leave prison after spending a time there or quickly re-offending to get sent back. Simply because they adapted to life in prison and in some ways can't function outside of it.
I wish. I’d be in. Unfortunately where I live oil companies own everything from two feet down.
Maybe. I prefer we make tattoine style houses in the Tunisian desert, and leave em there.

I don't understand your rationale. Are you saying the barrier to owning a home is the complexity of building one? Or is it the lack of space? I think homelessness is caused by failed systems, namely the monetary system that we have inherited from long ago. Only by basing our decisions upon the availability of resources can we solve homelessness. And of course, the robots will help by hanging these modular structures in tree-like shapes, as nature does teach us this is the most efficient use of space.
Only three things would solve our homeless problems: mandatory drug/alcohol treatment, ODs, and shooting home Invaders. California has given countless billions of dollars to the homeless in free lodging, free food, free money, free drug paraphernalia, etc., and every year, we have 20% more homeless than the year before, because it's so easy to be homeless here and continue with your addiction.
It's sad, but it is the truth.
Not likely. A big part of the “homeless” problem is people who don’t want traditional homes, jobs, and especially addresses. Also, i’m not convinced that such habitats are actually affordable. Most of the ones i’ve found for rent are crazy expensive. They appear to be more of a novel vacation stay than an actual permanent domicile.
They are fucking deathtraps.
You are basically giving vulnerable people shitty accommodation, as a temporary fix to make yourself look good.
Hobbit holes are not only fire hazards, but prone to structural problems. It's one reason we build out the ground and not into the ground.
Extra homes created in any place or situation has the potential to help increase the number of homes available. Nobody is making anyone live anywhere in the UK.. Live where ever you think its practical to live... if can afford it
Too many homeless people in my area... You'd need a city size of hobbit holes.
Likened to fracking. Earthquakes.
I wonder what the inside looks like. They're probably small.
Once the hobbits move in , there goes the neighborhood.
Why, because most already look like Smeagol?
They aren't made or maintained for free so no
Possibly,. Soylent green is more in the WEF plan for homelessness and other ills
don't know, don't care, I want!!
