How do you think Indonesia will police this? Will they ask tourists to show proof of marriage before allowing them to share a room in a hotel?
What are your thoughts on this?
That is really fucking stupid but thats what you get when you let religious zealots run a country.
Clearly it is completely unpoliceable and even if it is thats even worse because it means you are living in some orwellian nightmare.
I dont know if this is to do with tourism or not but it wouldn't surprise me if it was; there seem to be a lot of really dumb cunts working in the field of tourism in various governments around the world who get this idea in their heads that if they can just stamp out >insert whatever 'bad tourism' type< they have in their country or area then suddenly all the people who are currently visiting ancient structures in Greece etc will start coming to them instead for undisclosed reasons.
The why is never included, only that they have a desire to attract 'quality tourism'.
People are such twats.
My understanding no sex outside marriage, even if you're a tourist.
However, since gay marriage is prohibited, no sex for them at all.
And if you do have sex outside marriage, it may be a partner, parent or child that grasses you up.
But all this hides some sinister other laws including no criticism of their leader, and limited ability to protest.
Oh and the laws are written in a vague manner which means they are open to interpretation and can be used to target a particular group.
I've never thought about visiting Indonesia, so it doesn't make a difference to me. I can't imagine how are they going to control this, it seems like an impossible task.
All I know is that these laws will probably go wrong and they will lose a lot of tourists.
Probably helps lower the rates of unplanned childbirth, and etc.
Its probably some indirect way to control the population a bit.

This honestly isn't shocking to me. This is already a policy in other Muslim countries. And yeah, those countries have implemented a policy that only married couples or family members can book a hotel room together. I've read stories of people getting busted and I always wonder, how they even know that they were having sex.
I'm single at the moment, so it doesn't effect me, but if I wasn't, I wouldn't feel comfortable with my girlfriend being in a separate hotel room. But there are plenty of other reasons to not visit Indonesia then this new law
Crazy people, medieval mentality. For business I would advise against associating with crazy, hence no business with them. Next can be nationalization or some weird anti-foreign capital laws. Not to mention absolutely unexplicable intrusion into personal choice sphere.
That it's pretty obviously an attempt to distract from something else, either in the bill hidden behind bureaucratic language, or something else going on (or about to be discovered) high up in the government. Something like this is practically impossible to enforce in any meaningful way.
There is no better way to create a lot of frustrated people!
You have to have institution of marriage for this to matter.
As for enforcement, we can tell who a baby's father is.
I never plan on going there, so I don't care. It's a stupid law and laws like that are already on the books, even in the USA, but they aren't enforced. This is what happens when legislators have nothing better to do.
Those women are gonna have the tightest pussies in the world.
Some Indonesian politician probably got sick of Tinder. tbh
I wonder how they're gonna check it, you can't really check if people have sex in their private bedroom on night xyz or not.
An unmarried and pregnant woman would have some explaining to do.
Would create a need for back alley abortions!
Hardly surprising considering it is the largest Muslim nation, by population, on the planet.
Great, at least Indonesia has better morals than America (and most of the degenerates on this site).
Its a just law. Married couples should face penalties for breaking their vows of faith
I don't think Americans and Europeans should try to impose their values on others.
well that's one way to stop cheating
Great idea! How they gonna enforce that?
Good for them.
I think it's great.
Good.
