Should both sides democrat and republican stop vilifying one another?

Lately I have been seeing so much extreme right and left wing hate toward one another now I see my self as a Democrat and I do have friends that are republicans and when we get into politics it becomes a massive debate but we don't let politics ruin our friend ship. My issue is why are the extreme left and right so pent up on trying to prove one another wrong when it should be your not wrong but your not right how do fix this to make it so that way the both the people and business can work with one another. Am I wrong to think the media has go to far and those who are on the left and right need to have some chill

Democrats and Republicans in Washington will never stop acting childish and immature and hating one another. However, everyday Conservatives and Liberals should stop attacking, vilifying, and dehumanizing each other.

But to be honest, it's almost entirely the Liberals doing that, calling Conservatives "Nazis, 'Trump Supporters,' White Supremacists," etc and completely dehumanizing their neighbors and former-friends just for not swearing allegiance to the corrupt Democratic party (which is somehow even worse than the Republican party.) They're definitely the bigger jerks for that, even if they're being manipulated and brainwashed into it.

I'm not on either side, but Conservatives are without-a-doubt, definitely the far more peaceful and tolerant side. The only thing they (and I) would disagree with, is pushing the LGBT/Trans agenda onto people, especially children, which is beyond f*cked-up. None of us can be friends until that comes to an end, first.

"Should"? Yes. "Will"? Don't hold your breath. There are many very powerful people and groups who want the hatred to continue. Social media, which presents a very specific, very focused view of the world with little to no sense of subtlety or nuance, allows for this- and you'd probably have better luck getting an addict to give up heroin-soaked cigarettes than getting a typical person to give up social media.

Nope. Now is very much the time to vilify the Republicans since they literally attempted to overthrow the country and are openly fascist and treasonous.

That very much sounds like they are the bad guys to me.

Well yes go after those who went after our government and try to over throw it but what about the others that dident want that or endorse it

Mitt Romney he denounce the republican party and had a beautiful done speech literally saying this isent the same party it once was and he got vilify for not agreeing with the rest of the republican party

The party was hardly any better before either, including at the point where Mitt Romney ran for president against Obama. He is as much apart of the problem as well.

What did during bush were they good then?

No. George W Bush was another example where the Republicans chose the party over the country. Lets not forget the drama with the Florida recount for starters but he was not a good president, the only reason people are not making fun of George W Bush today is because Donald Trump is even worse/dumber which made George W Bush look good by comparison.

Arguably the worst thing George Bush did was the invasion of Afghanistan on false pretenses using the deaths of 9/11 to fuel his own ambitions and leading to countless deaths and suffering that continues to this day.

Its also worth mentioning that George Bush also allowed the growing corruption and degradation of politics in USA to continue as well as contributed in many terrible ways such as the torture of captives in Guantanamo which sets/continues a precedent of not only breaking international laws and having the government and government agencies overreach their authority and violate personal rights without consequences.

This was also sort of the beginning of the current problematic intelligence service where Bush promoted the surveillance of Americans without a warrant among other things leading up to the whole mess with Snowden and continued today.

We could also talk about the financial crisis which was caused by lacking regulations and lack of governmental oversight or a million other things.

Point is, USA as a country and its values was continued to be eroded under George W Bush and the GOP was both protecting him and cooperating with him to make it happen. He was also very clearly not a particularly smart person and probably had no business becoming president in the first place.

George Bushes father was certainly more competent but he too was just another step downwards into the current state of USA. He might not have had the foresight to see this far ahead to know what would happen but he had no problems with the corruption and destruction of the system of government for personal gains.

We should do away with the party system. Maybe then the politicians who do what’s best for the United States. To much hate and fighting among themselves. Look at how much money is being spent in this bickering.

What I would truly like to see be implemented would be an age restriction in Congress and the Senate to where you can not be 60 years old and in politics

No, too late for that. It's gone too far. It's all out war now. This has been building for more than 40 years now. Over the last 10-15 years it's really accelerated. It's reached critical mass.

Ideally, yes but you can't win an election if you don't vilify your political opponents.
