Democracy works by exploiting someone. Usually women, but can be convicts, slaves or immigrants as is the case in the USA.

In western civilization, I don't think oppression is happening to women.

In some middle eastern countries they still oppress women.

Women can't have a career, women can't leave the house without male supervision, women can't dress how they desire etc.
