Why do some people join a political party that doesn't support them or says there immoral or supports or ignores discrimination against them?

Now hold on a minute guys. I didn't say the party hates them, necessarily rejects them, or that they can't be with that party or can't have views that align with that party.

What im saying is, those first two things can happen, and with the cultural drama surrounding it and the other side SUPPORTING there passion or belief or conviction more why wouldn't they just join the other side or go independant

Well if you believe in voting and know an independent president is never gonna get voted in with your choice just been Trump or Biden at some point you have to choose a side even if you don't agree on everything.

Now if you don't believe in voting then that becomes less of point. But I still think you would align yourself more with another one. You would have to be super central to not know who you would pick if forced.

Additionally there is the fact people are irrational thanks to the way they were brought up or taught etc they will deflect to what they know rather than the correct choice. It's like toxic masculinity or toxic femininity, how does it help your own sex by belittling them into acting a certain way because that's the way you've also been forced to?

To take it a step further with an analogy a victim of abuse can become an abuser themselves. Why would a victim become the very evil that hurt them? welp sadly it's just the way it works sometimes.

Very few people are one-issue voters. They consider the entire picture. Not everyone is on the far right or far left. A very significant number of people are somewhere in the middle. They might lean one direction, or even consistently vote on one side, but that does not mean they agree with everything that party says. My guess is that it's actually a small minority who agree with the entire party agenda.

Plus, your list shows you don't actually know much about the parties and who generally sides with those parties. You are going by stereotypes that are not very realistic.

Also, most of those things you listed have very little to do with real politics. That's because most of those things are big issues when it comes to public debate and rhetoric, but in reality have little to do with real politics. That means it's all talk, but not what politicians actually do in their daily job.

Go look at the actual Congressional record. Look at every bill that's introduced. You will see that none of those things you listed are common, except welfare related spending bills.

Also look at bills that are introduced but never make it through committee. Those bills are mostly for show. If you focus on bills that make it to a floor vote and have a chance of passing, that's what politicians are really doing. Also, look long term and don't place too much weight on current hot button issues.

So ignore all the public rhetoric. Ignore all the stereotypes. Look at what politicians actually do.

They align with whichever party is in favor of whatever policies and beliefs are most important or influential to them. I don't agree with everything in the republican / conservative party, but strongly align with things that are most important to me. So that's the party I joined. And no one has ever said that I'm not a real republican / conservative for not aligning with everything.

And I think the problem here is that since they are corrupt some little disagreement you have can into a big tension between yourself and other party members and then there is in party tension and then you are treated like a sellout and an outcast and then ur like no ur the sellout not me and then its just a mess to me so

maybe there are other principles more important to them than their identities.

for example Milo Yiannopoulous is gay but free speech is more important to him than his sexuality thus he chooses the side of free speech.

to me its edgy. im an independant so I dont run into this problem, as I know I will clash with some majority opinions of both parites at times.
