Liberals, can you tell me why I should hate Russia?

Conservatives, can you tell me why I should hate China?

Now it's your time to justify your xenophobia and why you're normalizing hate speech against an entire population.

My opening remarks:

#1 I know that Russia (and China) are the biggest rivals of the US when it comes to geopolitics. But you know what? I don't think the US should rule over the world. Your "world domination" plans are not mine. I'm not going to fight for it.

#2 I couldn't care less if the Russian government ever interfered in our politics, as we always interfered in theirs. In international law, there's no legal provision providing that we can't meddle in other countries' politics while other countries can't do the same to ours.

#3 Today you openly hate Russia, tomorrow you'll hate whomever the DNC tells you. Mainland Asians are not on board with the US woke politics and made up "rules-based order" either. They're probably the next in the queue.

It's a misconception that you should hate Russia or China. Very few people actually believe this. When they speak against China and Russia, they are talking about their governments, not their civilians.

My rebuttals to your remarks:

#1: I don't know anyone who has ever claimed that America should rule over the world. Most liberals believe America imposes its will on people too often and generally feel that America should mind their own business unless necessary. (Such as in protection of human rights, defense of allies, or in matters that directly effect America.)

#2: You should care greatly if anyone ever interferes in our elections, whether they be from within or without. If elections aren't fair, there's no reason to have them at all. (That's not an invitation to have the authoritarian dictatorship that many Republicans advocate for.) It is essential to uphold and defend our democracy from all threats, at all times. Whataboutism is a flawed argument.

#3: Most liberals don't like the DNC. At the end of the day, they are self-serving politicians. They are just the lesser of two evils. Most liberals support the idea of a strong third party, as the two current parties are both complete shit.

Liberals and neoconservatives are normalizing hateful narratives against Russians and the Chinese, sometimes even warming up actually Nazi propaganda like well known liberals are doing.

Examples:

Anders Aslund, Anders Ostlund, Michael McFaul, the former PM of Estonia, Cher, many Ukrainian liberals, just to name a few. They all said xenophobic stuff against Russians at some time. A Ukrainian journo named Melaniya Podolyak even said Russians should be genocided and not a single one of you liberals called her out.

But you should pay attention to whats happening.

There is a lot going on in Russia one can critisize, even without the war in Urkaine.
Like no rights for LGBTQ people or assasination of people (politicians/Journalists/...) who are against Putin, or even mentioning critique on Putins politcs.

Basic human rights are only granted to those who are in favour of Putin.

There is also a huge difference in wealth between, lots of russians are poor while a handfull of oligarchs are incredibly rich. But thats not only a problem in russia.
