Trump is ahead in the latest polls. Even the liberal leaning Harvard University poll has Trump leading Biden by 5 points. This was before he visited the citizens of East Palestine , Ohio which he showed up the sitting president who was too busy in Ukraine to survey the disaster in America.

I don't believe in such early polling. And we don't know who is being surveyed. Personally, I think Trump is in too much trouble and most people (including republican voters) want to move on because they don't want to deal with another four years of drama. It's too exhausting. I believe majority are looking forward to DeSantis as the next candidate and hopefully president. The biggest reason Trump might be leading is because DeSantis has not made an official announcement that he's running. But he is still making a lot of money via donations by travelling all over the country.

Nothing clever about it. I have no idea who will even be running. It's WAY too early for that. In the past nobody would even be seriously discussing it this early. At most some people might gently probe, but there is no way anyone would get serious this early. It seems like every election it gets earlier and earlier, until the damn campaigning is almost non-stop.

It's actually pretty common for a complete unknown to win the presidency. Or at leas they were unknown before they ran. Clinton and Obama were both like that. Nobody had heard of them except in their own state.

The point is, that I might vote for someone that I don't even know their name yet. It's just way too early.

I don't know who they are leaning toward. But I know a majority don't like Trump. A lot of them are like me - they don't consider Trump a real conservative or real Republican.
