Do you know why black people like watermelon? Because it's a staple of the American south, where most American black people live? No- well, yes, that helps, but the primary reason is that EVERYBODY likes watermelon (the highest per capita consumption is among the Chinese), and black people are a subset of everybody. It's also nutritious and cheap; seven or eight bucks will feed you all day (although you WILL spend much of that day running to and from the bathroom, since they're not kidding when they call it watermelon).

I mean, is it more "offensive" to serve watermelon in the name of black people, or to DENY watermelon in the name of black people?
