What are your thoughts on Gender-Neutral "Theyby"?

A theyby or non-binary baby is a neologism for a baby or child raised in a way that is gender-neutral, allowing children to choose their own gender, and also referring to the accompanying parenting style. Thoughts on this? is this good idea or bad idea? Im non binary myself but this isn't good idea in my opinion they should at least wait till the baby is 7-10 years old to decide

Awful idea. I grew up all pink. People have too much time on their hands lol. I would say I grew up fine/okay and I am not mentally confused as to who or what I am! If a child gets too much freedom and choice, they can be confused as to WHAT they are! and that, in my opinion, creates too much anxiety and confusion for that poor lad! They are going to be curious about their parts and your job is to explain to them that they are either a boy or a girl! Children cannot handle so much complications at an early age! They need to know simple difference first and foremost, and THEN maybe get to the details/complications etc! It's the reason why we don't teach Calculus to first graders or kinder. Their brains are too small and they are too new in this world to really understand what is going on in the world! Heck, they cannot even convey their emotions well that sometimes they have TANTRUMS regarding simple things/matters, and now you want them to deal with gender issues? ! I smell a disaster and a lot of mental insanity/dysphoria stuff!

cause at that point really you're choosing for them to be non-binary and I think it could create some struggles and confusion in their childhood
and also it sort of sets non-binary as sort of the thing before you find another gender like - you get to be non-binary until you choose something else which doesn't seem very positive, even if that isn't the intention I can imagine somebody feeling like that is the case - but yeah in a way it's almost invalidating or belittling non-binary people as if their gender is childish and stuff and it only encourages "making your mind up"
I also don't think it's helping wider goals of encouraging teaching about gender identity and stuff to children since its a little extreme and while some conservatives would be more lenient in tolerating the teaching of gender id and all, especially in the coming decades, they may feel that this is just the first step in a wider plan if parents are doing this
also think of all the learning experiences that'll be more difficult by taking male and female out of the picture in childhood - teaching about consent and crimes in relation is, in a way, based on gender for example. Also introducing kids to LGBT+ people to help us have a more inclusive future is based on male-female since it's way simpler just telling your son that boys can also love boys.
Then it's also taking away a lot of social experiences and could replace them with loads of horrible ones which could end up encouraging them to be biased on their gender
overall I think it hurts the cause for a more inclusive world and parenting, I think the idea doesn't work and I don't support it.
If you want your child to be able to figure out their identity themselves (which you should!) then you should encourage the teaching of these things in their childhood, or teach them yourself and you should tell them any identity is okay and you'll love and support them no matter what, and if they do come out to you then ofc you love and support them!

It's an important start. Ultimately sex and relationships should boil down to what two people want. Attraction is unconscious/subconscious, and you can be attracted to all kinds of people across all spectrums of humanity.

The point of the non-binary concept (thought calling your kid a 'theyby' is fucking stupid), is that people are people. It's an acknowledgement that what society says people born with a penis should act one way, and people born with a vagina should act another way.

Obviously, this is fucking brain-dead. People are so incredibly varied and everyones wants and needs overlap in pretty much every single area. There are masculine men, feminine women, masculine women, feminine men. There are men and women who define their sexuality as wanting to be an alien, or a creature, or whatever else, and there are men and women who want exactly that as well.

The point is that the constant social enforcement of typical picture of "men" and "women" is a horrible horrible system for happiness and fulfillment. People should be allowed to be who they want, and they should be allowed to go through life with the challenges and benefits that come with that.

I think children are too young to be using terms. I've always had a MASSIVE problem with labels. Everyone labels themselves and it just constrains their lives. Kids moreso. You call a child a "theyby", and they're going to grow up with that as a core concept. Not that they should be themselves, but that they're a "theyby". It defeats the point.

However, if you don't at least start teaching them that they should be who they want, it will be too late by 7-10, they will already be heavily socialized with the outdated bad concepts.

I can see raising your child gender-neutral as in not forcing them into gendered behavior—and not letting others force them either. Which ig yeah you could say using neutral name and pronouns for them would protect them from others pushing gendered shit at them all the time...

You can just raise them let them play and act how they wanna, let them know their sex, and know about genders like they should understand people have them at least... but don't be having them "pick their own" unless they explicitly push for one.

Like if they know they have male sex, and are like yeah I'm a male, I'm a boy, I wanna do boy shit. That's yeah, at that point they seem to know their gender or at least have a grasp on it. But if they don't care and just do whatever, then don't push them to decide. It was like a fucking explosion of sexual fluidity and confusion. The parents were like, "fuck this gender binary shit, let's raise our baby to be a theyby and blur the lines between genders!"

And the baby was like, "wait, what the fuck is happening? Am I a human or am I a fucking frog? I'm so confused and turned on by all this gender-bending shit!"

The parents were like, "ok, calm the fuck down, we're not trying to turn you into a furry. We just want you to have the freedom to choose your own gender and express yourself however the fuck you want."

And that's how it all started. The theyby grew up in a world where gender was a fluid concept and species was just another thing to blur. They experimented with different gender expressions and even tried to mate with a frog once (but that's a story for another time).

But eventually, the theyby realized that they were just a human after all and accepted that gender was a complex social construct that couldn't be easily defined or confined within the narrow boundaries of a binary system.

The theyby's parents, although well-intentioned, had to confront the reality that raising a gender-neutral child was not without its challenges. They had to navigate a society that was still heavily invested in the gender binary and that often reacted with confusion or hostility to their child's gender expression.

In the end, the theyby realized that it wasn't necessary to choose a gender or identity label at all. They could simply be themselves, whatever that meant to them at any given moment. And as they grew older, they found a community of people, and animals, who shared their beliefs and celebrated their gender fluidity.

I have my personal impressions on what it would be like, but in honesty no one knows. It's going to happen to some extent, and people will just have to see. I can say for certain that in 20 years a certain number of people raised this way will say it was a good thing, and some will say it's a bad thing. And what will make it really confusing is determining if the parents being good or bad on other areas made them feel that way. And people following confirmation bias

I think, with many cultural norms, our thoughts on this will not be understood in the future either. We look back on Greek sexuality and don't understand it. People will look back on our gender dynamics and not understand it. I suggest having a little more humility, to not think you just know one way or the other. Watch and learn what it does, and we can respond from there.

Honestly, I don't think gender matters as much as people think it does for ages 0-6 years. Kids are kids, they don't really care all that much if someone is a boy or a girl, and if they tell them, "I'm neither, just call me by my name" they usually just say, "Okay, you wanna play together?" and move on with their lives. Sure, from ages 7-10 they start to pick up on more about the world and what different things mean, what it is to be gay, straight, trans, etc. but letting the kid be non-binary or if they decide to call themselves a guy or a girl based off of what they see around them is fine. The parents aren't forcing their baby to do anything, they just give them access to girl toys and boy toys and girl clothes and boy clothes and let them do what's comfortable in a time where none of their peers cares or judges them.

There is no such thing as non binary/gender neutral (aside from having your reproductive organs removed, but even then genomically you would still be your original gender).

Gender = biological sex.

It does not matter how you feel or think or act, it has no relevance to your gender whatsoever, because gender has nothing to do with thoughts, habits, or feelings.

You cannot choose your gender, even sexual reassignment surgery cannot create functioning reproductive organs. It is assigned to you at random during fetal development, and you are stuck with it.
