Trans women are trans women.

If they were to seek medical treatment, it would be misleading for them to identify as women when seeking medical attention.

What if the doctor schedules a examination to test for cervical cancer?

The trans woman would need to explain that they don’t have a cervix. The doctor would ask why. And then they would discover that they actually were actually born male and would need to reschedule everything.

Whether seeking medicinal attention or competing in sports, trans women are biologically and psychologically unique.

They are not neither fully men nor fully women. They are trans women, with unique challenges, with biologically and socially.

If a trans woman fully wants to identify as a woman, why are they so involved in trans politics?

If they want to be treated as a cis gender woman, they should do what cis gender women do, and not get overly involved in trans politics.

They’d need to leave their life as a man and a trans person behind, so they can turn over a new leaf and fully identify as a woman.

Perhaps move to a new town, change their name, change their identity, so that everyone now only knows them and recognizes them as a woman. They could live life, be treated as a woman, and never speak of the past.

But wouldn’t that make them feel isolated? If they spent time with groups of cis gender women, and if they talk about struggles they’ve been through, and what it was like growing up?

They wouldn’t be able to relate very much, talking about things like the first boy they kissed or how scared they were when they had their first period, or about starting a family. Or what their dating life is like with men.

If they were to share about their past experiences, they couldn’t even call it their experience as a woman, because it wouldn’t be. It would be their experience as a trans woman.

If they talked about changes happening to their body due to hormone therapy and about bottom surgery, other women would not be able to relate.

So, I’d they really want to feel understood, they had to find other TRANS women to connect with since cis gender women friends just won’t be able to understand them the same.

This shouldn’t be necessary if trans women are women.

But the fact is, women understand women’s issues the best. And trans women understand trans women issues the best.

Women are women. Trans women and trans women. There’s no way around it. They are different biologically, psychologically, and even their human experience is different.

I believe that trans women want to be treated as women because they don’t want to endure the discrimination that’s unique to trans women.

But, that’s just how the world is. Every demographic has discrimination and prejudice that’s unique to them.

No matter how you cut it, trans, cis gender, male, female, rich, poor, black, white, brown, yellow, gay, straight, religious, non-religious… Every group faces discrimination (or even hate) that’s unique to their demographic.

Trans women that want to be treated as women are trying to switch demographics.

But unlike rich to poor or poor to rich, this is on a biological level, so they could never fully make the transition anymore than a white person can transition into a black person.

They just need to own their demographic, along with its own unique challenges. And like the feminist movement, they should strive to establish and maintain equality.

But equality and sameness are different. Humans are different, but equal.

I see a lot of trans stuff on here. Your sex/gender is a personal thing, I don't go around announcing I am straight/heterosexual guy with all the regular parts to every Tom, Dick and Harry. The only thing that matters to me when I meet a person is whether they are a good person, period.

If they believe they are women, then what I believe is irrelevant, and I just wish them all the happiness. Life's a journey and everyone has to find who they are, why would a trans person be any different?

I don't think so, because they can't change their DNA, that said... if someone LOOKS like the person they say they are, I'm okay with treating them that way. I man who turns into a woman who then literally looks like a woman, has the surgery and all aspects. I will treat them as a woman... same goes for trans-gender men.

As it doesn't make sense to me to have someone that looks like a man (biological female) going into the women's locker room, or reverse.

However I don't really care, I say that is their business, they can do what they want as long as they don't try to change others.

Studies have shown that transgenders who identify as the opposite sex often have similar brain patterns to the sex they identify as. The more science uncovers regarding transgenderism, the more evident it is that it's a neurological issue and not a "delusion" or a "sin". How we should treat that neurological issue is not a topic I feel informed enough to comment on, but if a biological male feels happier in life being called she, it seems incredibly mean-spirited to go out of your way to remind them they're not a "real woman". Just mind your own business. If you're uncomfortable with it, just don't interact with them. It's that simple.

They are not women, although I am willing to say their pronouns when talking to them. If the discussion is about their sex or it's a serious situation where they require medical attention, then I will use their actual prounouns instead of the ones they identify with.

I sympathize with people who don't feel comfortable with their very physical being but it cannot be changed even by all of medical procedures out there. On this basis I oppose all plastic surgery that isn't reconstruction. We're all dealt a certain hand and we have to play it.
