I used to think having mixed family or being mixed was an exception, but not so much. A person having multicultural friends is usually a good sign-
that a person is not racist, but some people have dogs and are still animal abusers… 🤷♀️ so it’s not really what you have, but how you treat things and people. Also all cultures are 100% people, and we all have a side to us capable of being animalistic. I’m not meaning anything bad by the example mentioned before.
Even hitler was Jewish HIMSELF, but he did not like his own people. So it’s not enough to be a certain race. You have to respect all people, and any signs of hate or signs of wanting to harm people should be taken into serious consideration. Any harassment or “joking” harassment is still harassment, and both should be confronted.
For the most part. 9 times out of 10, growing up with a certain people creates a bond, regardless of the similarities or differences, so I think anyone who has a multicultural friend or mixed family should be considered and observed closely, to see if their actions and beliefs match their words and their surroundings.
It can’t always be an excuse, and it’s never an excuse to say anything DELIBERATELY hateful or harmful.
Haha, NO. Can confirm you can have "friends," of a certain race, but that does not mean you're not race. I use the term friend VERY loosely because that's not a friend in my opinion.
I rather not discuss the details, but I've been the "friend" of racists... obviously, not intentionally. It's more like you find out who they really are after you really get to know them, others have warned me how they really are because I was too oblivious to notice it, or their mannerisms around you compared to others.
I hate when someone says they're not racist because, "I have a (insert race here) friend!" NO. It doesn't work like that! If anything, I've noticed people who say that are usually blaring racists.
I'm not sure because, a few years ago, I was working in a print shop where everyone was white and nearly everyone there ragged on about n** this and n** that and they were always talking shit about blacks! I was amazed that people like that still exist! More that there were a LOT of them in one place and NOT just one or two in a building of at least 20 people! And, most of them were younger than me!! I thought the 20-somethings of 10 years ago were all-inclusive! I hadn't heard talk like that in a LONG time, decades! And then, they hired a black guy to drive their delivery truck and nearly all of that kind of talk stopped!! Obviously, they ARE QUITE racist, even though they acquired a black "friend". Everyone was friendly to him all the time!
If you're one of THOSE people lol.
Anyway, some people will find any reason to blame others, blame another race, blame eeo, rather than just working with other people.
The whole world will be racist, or it will be the fault of other races, nothing will change their mind. I'm sure people who think I'm racist won't have their mind changed simply because my wife is Asian and my brother in law latino. I'd have to be part of that victim group, or part of their race for that perspective to be different.
It must be a deep mind game I'm playing or something. I don't like how divisive things are getting myself. But all I can think to do is praise God, talk to my neighbors, and keep my holster on.

Not at all! I grew up in a very multi cultural area where everyone just kinda blended and race isn't really a big topic, everyone just hangs with everyone and appreciates and respects each others culture inside respective homes. But when I went to university in another country where the population in the area was predominantly white, I experienced this.
I made "friends" there, that I hung out with daily.. They always treat me differently though. There were remarks, my cultural clothing and jewelry was mocked, slurs were always used quite comfortably, and negative stereotypes were made into frequent jokes. I was apparently being "overly sensitive " or got "we're just joking "every time I tried to address any of these things.
I wasn't invited to certain parties, they'd keep it a secret and go behind my back. I was cropped out of photos or always at the back, unless lt was for social media.. They used to be nasty about my figure (genetic) and called a slut because they thought I was always flirting or trying to seduce their boyfriends even though I was already married (cultural difference maybe? I'm just friendly ) They even told me I smelled weird and offer me deodorant, it's from the food I cook and eat ig? Which they would also be nasty about. They'd come for dinner and after I spent 8 hours cooking a traditional meal they wanted and ASKED to try, they'd have a mouthful, leave the plate and order take out.
I was just a token friend that they used to make them look good on Instagram. once I left, I never spoke to any of them again.
So, friends can be racist! And the, I have an ":X:' friend really doesn't mean anything.
I've heard this my whole life. I thought it was just only where I live, but apparently it also happens in the United States. 😲🤷🏾♀️
No, being friends with someone of a certain race doesn't prove that you're not racist. I've seen some people calling names to their friends (racist names) and then laughing. I've seen people in interracial relationships who were racist. By this I'm NOT saying that people who date/marry outside their race are all racist.
I even saw people with mixed kids being racist.
Racism is shown through actions and thoughts. It doesn't have to do with friendships and relationships. So, yes, you can be racist even if you have friends of a certain race.
Nah just because you can tolerate someone doesn't mean you’re not racist. I pay attention to words and actions. They go hand in hand. So what you say and how you act around someone or even what you say and how you act with others when that someone is not around, all speaks volumes
It's corny to use that argument. In fact saying you're "not racist" altogether is a sure way to sound like you are.
But in truth yeah, a real racist (and they are far leas common than what the media says) wouldn't be friends with a person from what they consider "inferior". So having friends from other races is more than proof enough that a person isn't racist.
That sounds nuts. However, I can say, that one can still be racist with different races of friends. It all depends what they feel in their heart for the other races. Just a few days ago saw a coach who was being online racist but yet coached a black boy in football. Guess that mask couldn't be found for him to put on that night.
Yeah, you're not racist cause' I gave you the N word pass lmao
Lol 😂
you can be still racist but your probably not super super racist against that person's race or else you couldnt be friends with them
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people around who will like someone personally but make generalisations about "the rest of them". That's still racist.
no. because you can be racist of other races that apparently your friend isn't.
A person can have friends of different races but still be racist.
It doesn’t prove anything. People are complicated.
Friends can still be racist towards you.
Have you ever had ‘friends’ like that?
Yes! I had a friend who was always passively aggressive towards me around my ethnicity. It got worse over time and eventually she just kinda erupted lol
Anyone can do what they want, it's a shady
Nope.
