President Trump agreed to do a Town Hall at St. Anselms College in New Hampshire for CNN. He was questioned for over an hour by Caitlin Collins who is an anchor for CNN. It was an obvious attempt to discredit him but by all accountS Trump was prepared for everything. He soon had the audience clapping and cheering and got a standing ovation at the end. I liked his response when asked about 120 Capitol police officers being hurt on Jan6th. He answered that one person, Ashlee Babbitt was killed. The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. What was your favorite part?

Trump brought his own people. The only people that would want to sit and listen to his bullshit are his followers. And Trump only agreed if he was allowed to take the discussion his way. The crowd was obviously his people from the beginning. They were cheering him from the beginning. When questions were asked that he did not like, he wandered a bit then directed the discussion away from things that would show the truth. As for the Jan 6th incident, we watched live as Trump directed his followers to attack the Capitol. He cheered them on as they were overrunning and beating the police who were trying to protect it. We saw him cheering them on in their attack on America! And it has been shown many time since. Only a total idiot would claim that Trump was trying to help America with the things he did that day.

We must have watched two different shows. I thought Trump nailed it. When the woman from Manchester asked him about high prices and how expensive it is to live today and what he would do to fix oit. We all watched as the police withdrew into the building. They were protecting the leaders of our country from a violent attack on the leaders of our nation. Trump later had cherry picked portions shown that completely hid the violent attacks by the mob. Ashlee broke out a window and was attempting to go through it to attack the people inside. The cop was aiming the gun at her and telling her that he would use it if she came through. Ashlee was so fired up on Trump's lies (they have been proven to be lies and every attempt Trump has made to claim the election was stolen was judged false by many of the judges Trump helped install) that she was determined to harm the leaders gathered inside, and pushed in knowing she would be shot. And for protecting all the people inside, the cop deserved that medal.
And why are you saying that video was never shown on the honest news? It was shown live and repeated many times since. The cop did not want to hurt anybody, but Ashlee gave him no choice! Ashlee was a terrorist along with the others who were attacking the Capitol and forced the police to shoot her. What the cop did was heroic, and to side with Ashlee you have to be an idiot!

@Red_Arrow I only saw it on Fox. It was not from the live Capitol feed. It was from a spectator's cell phone so it was not the official state sanctioned video you saw on CBS. It showed that there were armed Capitol Police officers behind Ashlee Babbitt and you could see the cop's gun hand shaking. He was clearly frightened of an unarmed woman he out weighed by a hundred pounds. Why did the armed officers that were in the same room that Ashlee was in restrain her. They clearly just stood by and watched. It was totally a murder and it was clearly covered up by the fake news.

I did not watch it on any state sanctioned video! I watched it on live feed from the various news feeds. The officers that were near her were pushed back by the crowd so they could not grab her. Several people were screaming at her "he's got a gun", but she proceeded to attempt to enter the speaker's lobby where there were still staff present. That is when she was shot. He shot only as a last ditch effort to protect those on the other side of the door. U. S. Representative Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), a witness to Babbitt's attempted breach, said that Lieutenant Byrd "didn't have a choice" but to shoot, and that his action "saved people's lives". He was not personally frightened of the lunatic Babbitt, but was protecting the lives of the people on the other side of the door.
Babbitt had served in the armed forces honorably and supported political leaders on both sides, but then fell in with the radical right. She supported Trump and started promoting his conspiracy theories which have been proven false many times over. In November 2019, Babbitt tweeted about Pizzagate, a conspiracy theory that senior Democrats were operating a child sex-trafficking ring pout of a non-existent basement of a pizza shop. By February 2020 she publicly supported QAnon and its ridiculous claims. She became very active on Twitter, mostly posting retweets. She posted nonsense about 50 times a day. On election day she posted 77 times. She was way over the edge and was looking to cause trouble and hurt people.

After the shooting the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia and the United States Department of Justice investigated Babbitt's death and made a determination that the shooting was "lawful and within Department policy".[12][72][73] Upon clearing Byrd, USCP released a press statement saying his action "potentially saved Members and staff from serious injury and possible death".

A unarmed veteran gets shot by police and she happens to be a Trump Supporter and it is judged an acceptable shooting according to department policies.
