I wouldn’t say cognitive dissidents I would say we found out shit about the FBI. That makes us not trust them at all.
No. As long as you can accept that sometimes a person or an organisation can do some things right and still make mistakes, there's no need.
The dissonance typically occurs when you first hold one belief strongly, and then another set of facts is perceived that clearly contradicts the first belief that you held so strongly. You may (or may) not experience some discomfort and try to reconcile the two beliefs without discarding either one and the attempt and failure at reconciliation will cause even more discomfort.
This has a lot to do with why people continue to favor Trump and fail to respond to his many illegal and more shortcomings.

The FBI has become the henchmen of the democrat party.
I don't think you actually understand what cognitive dissonance is.
No it’s more than a misunderstanding.
I just read Zealot by Rena Azlan about Jesus. All his followers believed he was the Messiah. An earthly being empowered by god, or is god as an earthly being.
But then he’s killed. Can’t have a dead messiah. Or can you? Cognitive dissonance. It’s a spiritual messiah now!
A misunderstanding on your part as to what it is which is a process, not a single event. Read the book:
When Prophecy Fails.
