Women are much less physically capable of defending themselves and generally have an aversion to the best personal protective item out there: a firearm, so it makes sense that there is a market of alternatives that advertise to women.
What's a sad reality is how unappreciative women are that there is thousands of men out there who have designed, manufactured, and sold these items to women because they care about their safety and well-being. Instead we have to listen to feminists whine about how "muh patriarchy" makes these items necessary or some nonsense.

I actually tried this, except for women almost ALL results were personal alarms. Otherwise it turned out pretty accurate.
Google search algorithms are based entirely on consumer trends. When men are looking for "safety," it's in the context of a workplace most of the time, so reflector vests, sunglasses, and boots are pretty universal. For women however, it tends to look at trends, and assumes it means safety in the context of personal security. It's unfortunate that a handheld alarm is pretty worthless yet that's the significant majority of the search results.

FAR more men are attacked/victims of violence than women. About 82% of victims are men in the USA.

Ha, and people wonder why society is so wacked. I could image if their were little difference but those items are complete opposites! Around where I live, both girls and guys should at least carry pepper spray because you can get mugged like crazy here. It's so bad, there's only one pizza place, and it's a dominos, and when the pizza dude or gal comes to deliver, you have to meet them at their car. They will NOT come to your door, lol. I'd hate to depend on that list for men's safety items here because it would do nothing! lol
Sadly, men can just be creeps in general.
I've had gay guys hit on me at gigs and at clubs. And I don't mean hit on, ie coming up behind me and kissing me. The guy was lucky not to get his teeth smashed in.
However, I think men are far more likely to be general victims of male violence and aggression. And sadly I've been a victim of that on quite a few occasions. Just cause you're a man, it doesn't mean you are safe.
I think women have it a lot easier in a lot of regards, and people are just generally a lot more sympathetic to women in general.
So I don't know why you words these things in a sort of antagonistic men versus women way.
I'm going to assume that what you take issue with on the women's items is the image it is trying to give that women are constant victims or perpetually endangered by men, so that we will view men as a violent threat that we need to protect women from.
Many men have dangerous jobs and they are also the majority of victims of violent crime. Many women do not have dangerous jobs in comparison but they are often targeted for sexual assault where men are not. So the results make sense by sex for the most common items needed. No it isn’t sad.
OK, this is a problem. Search engines may just be mimicking what people search for, but its still a problem.
we get killed by guns and other men and industrial equipment. You don't do the sort of dangerous things men do.

Also women are not that interested in working in construction or in heavy industries and men are more able to defend themselves as it is.

this graph would be a bit different down here in Mexico... the one for men's though
And yet men are significantly more likely to be victims or assault and violence.
Stop being a "victim". You're not helping yourself or anyone else.
Yes, the world is scary, especially for women.
No, it's three, and two extremely popular delusions.
Society is Fked. What more can be said honestly.
Excellent point. It would interesting to see a similar post of Men's Toys vs Women's Toys.
Yes women have to protect themselves from being raped. Men are physically stronger than women so they don't feel as threatened sexually.
You mean ''blue background'' for boys, and ''pink background'' for girls?
What? That it's sad reality how little physical labor women actually do? I never really thought about it. If women don't want to work that's thier prerogative.
But how many women do you really see working constructions jobs
It is and I'm training my daughters as well as I can.
I would say its clearly an representation of how men and women operate differently in society. Males are far more likely to take on more strenuous and physically demanding work.
