The law specifically states that the death penalty will be considered when damage has been done to the child's sexual organs and two or more aggravating circumstances are involved. Aggravating circumstances in violent crimes in Florida are things like injuring someone while commuting a crime, using a weapon while inflicting harm, using a deadly weapon to administer rape, stalking a victim under 16, showing a lack of remorse, etc. It's crazy that pedophiles on this site are sympathetic to someone that would stalk a child under 12, violently assault them with a deadly weapon doing beating them and causing damage to their genitals and then show no remorse in court for their crimes. That's some pure evil shit. You have to string a motherfucker like that up. You might want to go all Rasputin on him just to be safe. Kill him more than once. Maybe have an exorcist present as well...

The problem I see incoming though is innocent people getting convicted. I mean how many homeless dudes have been rounded up convicted and then end up getting paid $millions$ because DNA finally gets them out of it 10 years down the line?

So yeah... I like the idea of getting the MAPS people deleted, but just like the "believe all women" stuff, you're going to get false accusations or have cops that are just all too thirsty to blame someone.

Now if it's just outright obvious though... run those fuckers over with a car for all I care. Light them on fire. Have a trained horse stomp on them to put the fire out.

Oh yeah, Im sure making it a death penalty will make children MORE likely to expose their abusers, who are most often close family members or trusted authority figures. Others close to both the child and predator will also be MORE likely to report the abuser and not dismiss the child or try to protect their family/friends from death. Courts will be MORE likely to convict with ample evidence when instead of just "ruining" the abusers life they are literally ending it. And I'm sure the abusers will be LESS likely to take extreme measures to keep themself from being exposed, too.

Sure, it sounds cathartic, until u think about the consequences for 2 seconds. Those kids are now in an even more dangerous situation with even more desperate abusers and even more hesitant "protectors."

I'm against the death penalty, so no, we can't agree. What if the one you execute was actually innocent, as many death penalty victims already are? At least if they're in prison they can be released if a mistake was made.

The death penalty is stupid, primitive and barbaric, and I'd be willing to bet that most of those who support it are also against abortions because they're "pro-life". What a disgusting joke they are.

I don't think death is the way to go. For the most part because a lot of drug companies will limit the amount of drugs needed for the lethal injection to prisons so they cannot administer it.

It just becomes a very solid life. Many Southern states have harsh laws for repeat pedophiles, as well as a very simple parole. As long as they get castrated they can get out. Through many studies it's been shown to be extremely effective, like less than 2% recidivism.

Then they don't have to indefinitely be in jail, they won't rape, and they can be part of society again. Chemical castration is probably much cheaper now with the puberty blockers as well.

Can we pass this same law for people who directly brainwash young kids (activists, teachers, counselors, etc) into thinking they a member of the opposite sex? I’m not f*cking kidding. Some states are trying to remove parental authority when a minor “claims” they are the opposite gender in school (and are being brainwashed by leftist counselors/teachers).

We already have extremely severe penalties for child molesters. They are generally tortured in prison by other inmates. When they are released (if they live) they are "registered sex offenders" and can't live a normal life. Not clear the death penalty is any worse.

All that may be fine IF they are guilty, but sex crimes are notoriously difficult to prove in some cases. A few years back a woman (now in her 20s) recanted having accused her step father of molesting her when she was 13. He had spend the last 10 years in prison. She said she made it up because she was angry at his replacing her father. (she was a kid - and sometimes kids do terrible things)

The problem with the death penalty is that it can't be reversed (its also extremely expensive)

No it gives more power to child molesters. Child molesters are rarely strangers they tend to be family or friends of the family. Then the church 11,000 in Illinois in recent news.

I was on a jury for a child molester with 45 counts against 3 step daughters. It was in graphic details how to build up trust and how to abuse it over 12 years. The touching was like dinner it happened every night.

This law will do nothing good but another tool to abuse a child. Same as demanding cooperation for food or family members well-being.

Rape used to be a capital offense. The National Organization of Women (NOW) lobbied against it, with the rationale that there'd be no living rape victims anymore. It the outcome is the same, don't leave witnesses. It will be interesting to see how a similar evolution occurs here, with a crime that already has a much higher mortality rate than rape to begin with.

In many parts of Florida, men live who took on child brides in other states. For instance, in Mississippi, girls can get married at 15. It is not a good thing. The Supreme Court has already deemed capital punishment for that crime to be cruel and unusual punishment. There will inevitably be a lawsuit that costs the taxpayers a lot of money and the end result will be an overturned law. DeSantis is wasting your tax dollars to boost his profile for the presidency.
