My dad doesn't like when I say I'm mixed even though I am?

So my dad is white (French) and my mom is black (Cape Verdian). I have fair skin and was born in France however, I identify as French Cape Verdian because that's who I am and don't have the intention of hiding my ethinicity from anyone even though a lot of people can't tell I'm half black. My dad says I should not be saying I'm French Cape Verdian because I don't have any document saying I'm Cape Verdian as I was born in France and that really hurt my feelings. He said I'm not Cape Verdian I am French with Cape Verdian blood and I said "well, why can't I be Cape Verdian with French blood then?" It really hurts me that he sees me as white and not mixed if he wanted to have white french kids then he should've married a white french lady instead. I don't agree with the way he thinks. My ethinicity is not based upon a document I am as french as I am cape verdian I'm 50/50 I just happened to be born in France and hold a French passport why can't he understand that? I feel like white people especially in Europe are just so ignorant when it comes to this matter.
