Why do we keep giving Celebrities, tik tok stars, instagram influencers, streamers and YouTubers our attention?

I personally have seen to much drama in the news about people that I don’t even know. Like why do people care so much that this is now a news article on nbc news and other news sources. Aren’t there anything else that can be reported by the news for instance a firefighter saving a kitten in a tree or a color blind kid’s reaction to colored glasses. Why is our society looking into one person’s life or the relationship details of a “influencer” so much? Did we really get this far into civilization that we are so bored that we now look into a strangers life drama for entertainment? Look at the Kardashians, bhad Babi, the salt bae dude, the one dude that screams At video games and calls the cops on other players (can’t think of his name) and so many other people (I’d mention more people but I can’t think of any atm), they are all rich as fuck because civilization has decided that they are so “interesting” that we need to know everything about them now. Why can’t we focus on actual inspiring people like Alyssa Carlson the youngest female astronaut and so many other people that should have the spot light instead of a bunch of idiots?

I don't believe anybody has a perfect life cause life is not designed to be perfect. So if somebody has good looks or high income, I'm happy for them. Cause maybe they exercise 6 hour days to get that body or maybe they work 18 hour days to get that millionaire dollar business, or maybe they fed kids with malaria in a smelly hunger camp to get accepted into their elite medical school. If somebody merits it - I accept it - without trying to subtract from what they have. Cause I know that behind closed doors, they have struggles too, since nobody has a perfect existence.

And cheap thrills. I don't. But sometimes, it's an interesting aside and many news shows, like old school Sunday Morning, do focus on such positives as you're noting. Lots of inpsiring stories and people. That Sat. morning show Lucky Dog on CBS is great. Hope in the Wild is also great. And Innovation Nation. There are plenty of good shows. You're just not in the loop!!!

We watch what attracts us. I personally get a bit riled when I hear some kid is a millionaire but it’s actually more democratic than the studio run media we used to have.
