I'm not happy at all about really anything gas prices have gone up food has gone up the government spilled spends trillions of dollars on a bunker for them in case anything ever happens Republicans and Democrats keep the same fight going bickering back and forth just to keep us so we don't know what's going on b*******we act like a bunch of sheep it's all we do is follow we the little people are the ones that should be running the country not big business big corporations but all our politicians have been bought out they sold out on us from the moment they get elected they start to collecting money for their next campaign for the next 2 years until re-election time out of 500 and something elected official seats not one of them dares to stand up and be great and the sad part is is we vote them all into office it's just as much our fault is theirs we need to get a backbone in the 50s 60s 70s when you didn't like something there would be a protest the little people the hippies they would protest and get change we don't care I guess hear one of the biggest things in the world is going to happen to us when our government becomes our bank we are f***** because they will control you like you will never ever believe they don't have to give you your money if you going to the grocery store and buy a bunch of food you whip out your phone swipe it against their little machine to let them know who you are and if they don't like you if I've been bad-mouthing the government on here like I always do they don't have to sell me anything sorry your card was declined there's a little problem someplace but will be happy to check into it when we have time blah blah blah blah blah they not only have all your money but they can control you they don't have to sell you food you are under their thumb forever I hope people stand up and really look at this and not let it happen for the last past 5 years we've been nothing but guinea pigs test rats since covid-19 we got 5G they came out the same time is your computer going faster is your phone going faster no it's not was covered because of 5G because 5G came out the same symptoms before covid did 5G is also a military weapon all they have to do is turn it on and miles and miles they could do you they will make you stay in your house because it will burn your skin I'm not happy at all there's hundreds and hundreds of things other things that's going on that I just disagree with but what I really disagree with it are the people not putting up a fight of any sort
When I'm afraid of is we are third world country right now prices of food have gone sky high but pretty soon there won't be any food because the government will control that if they shut down grocery stores are they turn off the power that's why you can get free solar paneling from your government because when they turn off the grocery store power there's no freezers people will be killing each other in the street for food but what are we going to do we're going to wait until the very last minute before we start whining and complaining and killing each other that's b******* I'm very unhappy10 Reply

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yI think we all kind of compare the present society with the society from our pasts or the society we were exposed to in our childhoods. (but I'm unsure here as some people might have had a really tough past)
I agree with @Potteplante 's point of rat race. Earlier people were more chilled out & living comfortably while having the recourses, n they didn't have to work so hard, be so perfect & compete so hard for it. Now, people need to be everything, have the most perfect body, "best aesthetic", "best outfits", highest followers UGH.. I hate myself to think this, as a feminist myself n someone who understands patriarchy n the need for "women's right", yet.., I think the competition doubled n is v high these days because women's participation into jobs is also v high now. Like if we look logically, that's addition of a lot of population, so competition for both the genders is v high. Along with that, women have to still do the hefty women jobs additional "expectations" cuz of social media. People's mental health is the worst: everyone seems internally insecure: all are constantly running to attain smth that's unattainable. Very less people exude 'gratefulness' n 'content'. They have lost connection with their roots and are all trying to converge, rush in towards becoming the same person (which the internet / Pinterest / Instagram controls). Majority can't even do smth good without sharing it or keep smth good hidden about themselves. people are more show-offs now constantly seeking approval of others. Many younger men also feel no need to hold down-to-earth values bcz they feel they can achieve more/get appreciated more being this way, than holding their own values (again social media their gender is more about "reputation!!").. and then they complain they're all sad. I hope China releases some computer virus this time which shuts down all the social medias (totally impossible).
I don't know how I'd be able to like & accept where the society is progressing.04 Reply- +1 y
I've known about the rat race - long before I studied. That I studied it - as you say, gave me a bigger insight and a better understanding of the mechanisms within our soceity.
Our soceity is highly influenced by the past and the paradigms that has followed. In the past people followed traditions, if your father was a baker - you'd follow is footsteps, no question asked. Now we have choices - we can be who we want, be what we want our lives are not dictated by family and traditions anymore. Then globalization happen now you can all of a sudden compare yourself to the whole world opposed to just your local community. The competition I speak about isn't a gendered issue - it's the competition in between nations that has a direct impact on a indivual level. Our need for expertise in every field now - is leaving a lot of people behind because not everyone can obtain the level of expertise required to succeed.
We as humans have always sought approvals or validation from others - if we can't get it in our local community, we seek it elsewhere. Here social media makes it easy.
Opinion Owner+1 yYeah. Globalisation. Progress on a bigger level, yet problem causing on individual level. I think you explained it all much more properly, like a fact (as you have knowledge of sociology), rather than a rant of personal opinions as I did. You explained what's happening around, on which I had made my opinions. @potteplante
So you're say social media just highlights the validation part of human beings? Were people still almost the same level of "show offs"?- +1 y
Social media - or just the media in general, highlights everything in our existence. Needing and wanting validation is a part of human development - as a young child you seek it from your parents, later your friends, community and even by the government.
And yes, I believe that it is something we humans have always done, social media and our mini computers of smartphones just makes it easier and what soceity values varies in-between cultures and changes throughout time.
Media also makes everything more visible because again - you're not only connected to your local community but the whole world.
Opinion Owner+1 y@potteplante hmm.. Yeah right. What do you think like.. Where's the world heading now next? Like first globalisation & then social media highlighting it n then how it has impacted people's mental health.. Is this all going to go more intense only? Like of course you can't know for sure, but still..
+1 yNo, I'd like more welfare back into the Danish soceity. I think it is a shame that when shit gets bad - it is the "weakest" groups in society that pay the price and selfishly - I'm tried of having to "work more - for less resources" which has been a mantra at my workplace the last 2 years and isn't going to change anytime soon.
We just had a mass shooting due to poor mental health services - which should NOT be happening. Children and the youths wellbeing and life quality - is going down, more and more fall behind the rat race, while blaming themselves for not being "good enough" because they can not handle all the demands there is today. In a couple of years - you'll have to be done deciding what you want to be - before even going to elementary school.

Just basic sociology there - spend some time studying it. - +1 y
@potteplante thanks but I already observed that "rat race / rise in demands /unable to meet expectations / large-scale feelings of insecurity" point 3 years ago only😊when I was 17.. For that I don't have to study sociology. It's just that finding sm1 that wrote it already, made me excited so I was just complimenting u for that.
But yes, sure, sociology could teach me a lot more n give me examples n concrete theory to support stuff we can observe around already - +1 y
Sorry my response may look a bit negative. If you weren't being sarcastic, I don't mean it..

I don't know why it's so hard to see that in a place where everyone has a chance to flourish it'll also be better for the economy. Instead a lot of governments sabotage their own country just for some short term profits for people who are already rich af. I don't know what it will take for people to see that things can be way better but I'mjust glad I was born in one of the few places where things mostly work like they should and are not corrupted to the point of comedy.
I used to be so interested in politics because I thought if I understand how things work maybe I can be a part of positive change but now I know I'm disabled and I have trouble just running my own life so I'm just focusing on that and politics is so toxic I wanna stay away from it. In my country people see how great things are if you have a functioning government and public services etc. So they buy into the concept of making things better for everyone through government but in other countries half the people are already against the concept of improving life through government from the start so how are you supposed to debate and come up with good solutions when half the people just want to go it on their own (until they need something).
Political discourse just feels like going outside in a hurricane and shouting at it angrily that's about how productive discussions are. Maybe you will find a way to improve things :)

1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I'm a huge supporter of the Founding Fathers' idea of what America should be, but I certainly am not happy with the many perversions that exist today. And make no mistake, they aren't accidents or random chance. It's quite literally the elites - such as the World Economic Forum - who are responsible for nearly all of it.
The WEF decided about 15 years ago that they (the elites) only needed about half a billion workers globally to support their lavish lifestyles, and that everyone else was unnecessary and thus undesirable. Their goal is to reduce the global population by 15/16ths - from about 8 billion to half a billion - with 50 years. This is, for example, something Bill Gates has talked about in places where ordinary people aren't expected to be or to be paying attention.
There is no way to naturally reduce a population that rapidly - not even close. In fact, there are only 2 ways that is likely to happen - a massive war or massive starvation. Do you think it's an accident that Bill Gates has been buying up huge amounts of farmland and discontinuing the farming?
All of this socially decisive policies are being pushed down from the top by the elites, to distract and divide the people so we more readily accept them taking control over everything. If they get their way, the people who are useful enough to be kept alive will be little more than slaves, while the elites will bulldoze entire cities and turn them into their personal ranches. It sounds crazy, but that's literally what they talk about.00 Reply- 543 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yCorrupt corporate CEOs and politicians manipulating out government for personal profit and control instead of doing their job to maintain the stability of society, society is designed to punish poor people for being poor, meanwhile healthcare is insanely expensive, and politics are treated as if it were a sports game instead of picking informed people ment for the positions, but the voting process is also manipulated, strong armed, and rigged into only allowing the choice to be between rich people who will fuck the country up more

+1 y) Society is getting bad. One of the main problem is the internet. No I love the internet, but the hate among people is the problem. Hey it must be done this way, no this way, hey it (he/she) did this, giving away money you do not have, buy this app, sponsor me/us/site etc. everything is computerized what going to happen if everything goes down (war, destruction by weather or what ever) and shuts down that thing we love the internet.
10 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. I am happy for the opportunities and things I can have here as opposed to what some other societies have to go through, but at the same time I'm not pleased with all the other things and don't like very many people in my society. I think I'm more displeased with the mindsets than maybe the actual society itself.

There is nothing stopping most people, except themselves, in my country from having a wonderful life. I'm glad we even get that freedom and chance. We get to choose to be who we want to be everyday. Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI'm from Europe but I guess everywhere is the same. I think technology destroyed our skills for social bonding, and feminism is like an icing on top of it. We have never been so many, so lonely, so dependent on technology and so distant from each other. People don't see values in traditions anymore, everything is temporary and instant gratification. Soon we won't have jobs/hobbies anymore either due to AI, and I foresee a massive suicide rate issue in 30-40 years.

Kids were looking for a father figure. All tate had to do was appear to be an object of desire and then preach his philosophy. Boys and men from 9 years old all the way up to 60 years old loved everything he was saying. For the first time in their life a man was telling them the right thing to do.

I think you both know what I mean. The people who tell us men can become women. The people who tell us there is systematic racism and institutional racism against blacks, and want to teach CRT in schools. The people who hate America and want to change it at a fundamental level. I’m very unhappy with America right now, but I don’t hate my country as those people do. Continuing on, the people who want to cancel every voice that does not approve of what they say, the climate Nazis, and those who are anti white racists.
