Do you feel like you tend to generalize groups of people?

I look at everyone as an individual because that's exactly what they are each and every single one of us is different and for all the racist out there there is over 150,000 different colors of white there are over 16 different shades of black now you add somebody else's jeans to that and it keeps going on and on and on so once again we are all individual if you want to say white race go for it but you mistaken there's no such thing as one color white there's no such thing as one color black there's no such thing as group we are all individual
When I woke up and I start talking with somebody no matter who they are as I look at them I cannot see myself so I become that person and I treat that person with respect because that's how I want to be treated
I tend to criticize others for overgeneralizing, especially on this site!
It can definitely get bad on here.
Yes i have seen many people Generalise men and say all men prefer big boobs , or all women are bad drivers, or alm womeb arw stupid etc etc
I think that even when we do our best not to generalize, we're guilty of it in some way. Especially with people/groups we have little to no experience with.
Yes I tend to generalize people, because why not.. most people are sheep and act with the majority..

Most of the questions on here are generalizing groups of people. Just count in one day why are all men, why are all women, why are all democrats, why are all Republicans, etc. It's all over here. It's annoying to be honest. Glad you asked the question because it's amazing how many people think there's no differences and only stereotypes for all insert whatever group.
Half my answers to questions revolve around no all men don't x and no not all whoever think one way. It's maddening how people can't figure that out on their own and see the world in such black and white terms.
nope... no
this is one thing I never liked to do
I see people as individuals, and more importantly, I always try my best to see them as they really are and also for all of what they are... and even more important, I do try to see and understand the reasons they ended up this way, for good or for bad...
every person has had its own set of experiences, circumstances, challenges and more so yeah... it makes all the sense in this world that they will have their own way to be and I value that a whole lot
At one time, I did so with regularity, but if there is a proverbial silver lining to the horrific quagmire in which we find ourselves, as a nation and as a society, it's that hopefully we've learned to look deeper than just the outward appearance of a person before deciding which little box to place them into.'
I agree with you @Billlewis. My concern is that we're devolving as a society and becoming more bigoted in the US. It's upsetting.
@Friendlybro79 I agree, but that was the plan.
By default I tend to generalize. However I do my best to look at the individual. I also change my language when it comes to speaking about it. For example, instead of saying "all men" I'll say "men/most men generally" and so on.
I personally tend not to generalize, but i also need to choose my words better so it’s expressed correctly.
If enough individuals fell into a pattern I then tend to find out if other individuals fit in that pattern. So I might have general questions.
And I have met people that generalize for the sake of simplicity. They base opinions on those generalizations and live their life.
I guess l generalize narcissists as a group.
Only because the few l know were raised in a town not far from the small city l live in.
The city l live in offers the most employment opportunities and this is where l interact with them all.
It depends on what level of granularityin you questions. If you're trying to find the answer to a shallow question then generalities are more helpful. Especially if you keep in mind that individuals vary. But the more detailed and specific the question, the less a group is able to represent it.
You know me, I'm going down hard on people who overgeneralize, can't see individualism and their unconscious bias ways.
Everyone is unique. Generalizations are usually incorrect.
I hate when people generalise therefore I try to avoid it myself
Early on I learned not to generalize. So I look st each person individually.
TBH I never prejudge any one if I don't know them or in other words judging a book by its cover
No, I take each person on a case by case basis. Not everyone is the same
Stereotypes exist for a reason. If there’s no time to delve into a situation then stereotypes can help fill in the gaps a bit. The weight of the judgment, however, demands further investigation it it is indeed a heavy matter to be decided.
I try very hard not to generalize and look at people as individuals.
I think there are patterns, tendencies, among a group of people, but there are also individual differences among that group.
I look at each as an individual
No human has the capacity to know each and every single personality out there, so generalizations come off as a necessary evil.
working in retail yes I do
and Im often pretty accurate
the best example of this would be George Clooney in the movie Up In The Air... skip to the airport scene where they are in the security lineup
Individual. Always.
I alway look by individual
Each individual case by case
Both, I will generize until I get to know them.
Not at all
By religion, I tend to do it.
We all do at some points to be fair
Option A. yes I do.
