Why do so many killers plead for their lives when they had no mercy themselves?

They take the life out of someone but expect to be given a life sentence and not the lethal injection. Ironically, they had no mercy for the victim and several of them even killed in a horrible manner.

As a child I remembered the earliest example to this irony is even seen in the Disney movie The Lion King 1994. The evil uncle Scar pleading Simba for mercy ''Simba please have mercy I beg you... but I am family... what are you going to do? You wouldn't kill your OWN UNCLE?

Yet, he threw his OWN BROTHER (his own flesh and blood) off a cliff and had no mercy nor remorse for it ever. He killed without hesitation but wanted to be given mercy. Why is this found in many murderers?

Lol Disney should plead for mercy after the shit they've put out lately! Anyway, because they believe they're going to hell or have no idea what happens after they fry in the electric chair. They would rather kick it with their other homies in the clink or go to the hole, solitary confinement than face death.

That means the same. If they want to go to heaven (if they believe in an afterlife), they will die at some point.

Hypocrisy at its fullest indeed. I'm glad the hyenas showed no mercy for Scar, for betraying them... lol. I think death by lethal injection is more merciful than lets say torturing someone and then killing them horribly.

Thats true my issue with the death penalty is not killing bad people but the state having the power to decide someone no longer deserves to live

I think in the case of Ted Bundy, they made the right choice there. He would've likely been given a life sentence at a state that has no death penalty but the sick bastard escapes prison twice and moves to Florida (a state where they had the electric chair) and proceeds to brutally murdering a 12 year-old girl, a child. He definitely was a true terror and danger to society; he didn't deserve to live anymore.

So for me that's it I have no issue with the understanding that some people do simply need to die its just the process for me and the possibility of a fuck up when it comes to the law their are so many cases of people that are wrongly convicted even to this day where all the evidence shows someone did or didn't do sonthing but because of some red tape or some rule the evidence can't be used thats why state sanctioned death penalty rubs me the wrong way but I do agree someone like him needed to be put down

Unlike evil Scar, if my older sibling was the rightful king, I would be feel flattered to a king's sibling, to be at a high position where the king can get the people to respect me if they don't. If having his position was so much of a deal, then there are two ways to handle it (obviously not doing what Scar did); either being his helper and advisor and help him with the tasks or politely ask him to take a month vacation and do his task while he's gone.
