music doesn't change someone's behavior anymore than violent video games do like Call of Duty or Grand Theft Auto or the internet laughable "radicalizing" people's minds
it's the success that comes from the artists that inspires people to follow them, not the actual art itself
and let's be clear here. rappers are wealthy and they get lots of women. that's enough for young people to want aspire to e. g. boys becoming gangsters and girls becoming sluts, whores and gold-diggers
I think it's just that people don't give a shit about metal, if it was more popular and influenced more people, then people would talk about it. It's funny because metal is actually way more graphic in it's way of promoting violence against women especially. I'll get hate for saying that but I hanged out in the weird places of the internet when I was younger and many of the weirdos who listened to metal would grow up to develop torture and necrophiliac fetishes as young adults. Some would masturbate to metal songs lyrics it was so creepy. Not saying the metal music did it but it's really appealing to these types of people
Does rap do it?
Also metal is the most peacefull music scene out there.
