I trust it as much as most other sources. There have been studies that showed it was as accurate as some of the best encyclopedias like Britannia.

This guy is calling it fake. I don't see how you can call it fake when it's as good as the best encyclopedias in the world. It's an encyclopedia. If you want top notch references, you don't use an encyclopedia at all. But if you just want some quick info, Wikipedia is a good place to start.

If you want to dig into something in detail, or make sure the information is accurate, you go someplace else - but knowing what source is reliable has been a problem long before the Internet. There are no single sources for completely accurate information. You need multiple sources. Like the days before the Internet when kids did reports for school. They would be at the library with half a dozen books opened on the desk.

Not entirely, but it's a good place to get references to information you can trust.

On technical matters, it's pretty good, less so on political subjects where some people seem to have a political axe to grind.

For example, I've seen an article on housing refer to an article that claimed that even poor Americans live in larger homes that middle-class Europeans, although it compared all Americans, rural and urban, with Europeans living in some of the most densely populated cities on the planet. Not exactly apples-to-apples.

NO. Wikipedia changes its stories depending which way the wind is blowing.
I have seen things on wiki that were 100% false and easily provable. So where it’s idea was good the fact that “people” can edit it makes it NOT a good source for facts.

I once looked at a fight and it said someone won, then on the other page said he lost. True story.

I don't trust any media outlet or extention of media outlets. They are dishonest and a recent op-ed from the LA Times?, states all "journalists" should no longer be unbias (lol) and only print the "truth" (which means their version of it).

@goaded And then blame it on global warming and tell everyone we have 10 years to live and to turn the air conditioner off and buy electric cars.

And of course, Hunter's lap top was a Russian conspiracy, there isn't a border crisis, and Trump is a Russian agent. You are the poster child of gullible.

More than i trust public schools, politicians, religious fanatics, my parents, the news outlets (that are not independent reporters), Tik Tok, Google.

Wikipedia is not close to perfect but it is damn near it.

I do actually. Only because they’ve rarely if ever steered me wrong. I also read their citations at the bottom, though. Sometimes I start there.

And anyone else can remove misinformation. Show me a page that's "made up". (Not something like who it was that invented the electric toaster.)

@goaded I hired a guy once that was listed in Wickipedia as being in a Hulk Hogan movie. Later I asked him about the movie and Hulk Hogan. He told me that he put that in himself to prove to a kid that he could do it.

He had his own page? Besides, that's no more noteworthy than the electric toaster inventor (an early fake entry). When was this?

Do you think you could put in that Nancy Pelosi had died, for example? Or if you did, it would stay up more than 30 seconds?

Considering they have 15 year old Far Leftists on their review committee and articles written by spooks, I’d have to say “no.”
