they are intending to arrest the attackers. you have to wait to have a charge to place the attackers with otherwise if you arrest them you'd have to release them anyway without a charge.
and what you charge them with needs to be conclusive. so the lack of an arrest is not necessarily due to some lascivious racial issue but rather the boy just died. so now police can finalize a charge and arrest people for it.

Leftist DAs don't care about these sorts of crimes (white victim/black perpetrators). The Las Vegas DA sure seems like a leftist. And it's not like he'll feel the heat of much media outcry given most of the media are arms of the Democratic Party.
The charges could always have been upgraded to murder upon the victim's death, so that's no excuse for not already having filed charges.
I just picture my son being beaten to death. All alone with no one to help him.

Race has nothing to do with it. The police need to have hard evidence of exactly who caused the boy's death in order for the District Attorney to prosecute. You can't just charge 15 boys with manslaughter, and trying to determine which of the 15 are directly responsible for the boy's death takes a lot of detail investigation. Give the police time to determine that as best they can.
For the same reason black, hispanic, native, Asian, and other white men/boys are killed every day with no real media coverage... Sometimes people and law enforcement don't really care. Vegas is also a higher crime area with more homicides. Murders are also less reported on in those areas. How often do we hear about every murder from Atlanta, LA, Detroit, NYC, Chicago, etc? We don't. How often do people get away with it? Every day.
It is because he is White and they are Black. The media is often racist against Whites. If it was the other way around it would be on most news channels multiple times every day for months.
