Why are female teachers on average miserable and spread their misery to their students?

Not all female teachers but oh boy, I have not encountered even ONE miserable male teacher, that makes their students feel like the dumbest idiots in the entire region.

Male teachers on average are chill and so-and-so while a certain number of female teachers are yelling insults or make threats (not physical ones). Like sheesh, what's at stake here? Is somebody gonna die if we don't get herded or what? These female teachers are ripe for mental asylums.

I asked one of my friends the same question and he confirmed, that female teachers on average are crazy mental banshees while male teachers are chill and laid back.

Makes me wanna say women are crazy.

Add to that terrible kids and the parents dealing them angels and you can't punish a kid!

Most of my teachers were honest and said sorry it's going to be bad.

The worst are the ones who are mad and mean and just don't give a f... Yet they think they are nice to the students.

Also most miserable teachers need to be dating or in a relationship to be happy yet most are used and dumped pretty fast when dating.

If she is happy means she had sex that weekend... For about 2 weeks she is nice then boom she got dumped every one is miserable.

Female bosses are also often like that! Mine is only happy when she has sex and messes with her baby daddy's gfs.

LMAO, this is actually a very good question. As a former high school teacher, I have some insight on this.

1) Teachers make just enough to survive without a spouse, but are not paid commensurate with their educational level, so if they're single, they're pissed off about that. My single female colleagues were generally renters.

2) You deal with a lot of stupid BS as a teacher- tons of rules, regulations, and useless training sessions. This affects your mood and morale on a long-term basis.

3) You're dealing with kids who are constantly lying to you and trying to get over. You have to shut that down in a manner that isn't polite- especially female teachers have to do this to have good classroom management unless they're teaching the best students.

4) There's also survivorship bias- the female teachers with the best personalities usually don't stick around long in the profession, so you mostly see the ones who were "mean" enough to maintain some semblance of discipline in their classrooms.

5) A female teacher doesn't need to have a good personality or be attractive, doesn't really have to get along with colleagues. And many are miserable in their lives. I had a principal who was constantly bursting into classrooms mad about something and micromanaged everything like crazy. One of my students once asked me what the principal's problem was- "is she divorced or something"? I just pretended I didn't hear the question.

6) Teachers rarely get thanks. When I got it, it was from my students.

Go get what also? It's a career that goes unappreciated and one that most people could not do because there not mentally able to deal with it or intellectually smart enough. Lol.

I'm not even a teacher and that annoyed me. Work is work. Go getter lol. Anyone with kids should be missing their ass's they don't have to home school their kids lol.

Don't get me wrong I know not all teachers are great at their job but that's in any job. Some better than others but most are go getting enough to teach your children what you can't or don't want. Lol.

@Friendlybro79: I guess you don't realize that teachers are told not only what to teach but how they'll teach it, so there is little to no autonomy. They also have to enforce many rules. some of which are contradictory. The type of person that is comfortable doing that year in and year out is generally one that doesn't let things bother them and one who doesn't rattle cages. Taking the initiative is usually a waste of time in such an environment unless you like making extra work for yourself with no benefit. In public school bureaucracies, people rise not because they are productive or creative but because they manage not to offend anyone and they do what their supervisor tells them to do.

Well of course I can appreciate this answer being you were a teacher. My current job requires educating others but I'm not a school teacher.

To you first reply. This exists in many other jobs outside of teaching as well. Many jobs require you to do what you're told and how to do it. Your observation from one career to a completely different one is anecdotal although interesting to say the least. That said, any employee with full autonomy will have the capability of being more into their job if they care too. Full autonomy is good for individuals that don't need instruction.

By design any teacher that has to follow a curriculum that barely changes over their entire career must be bored lol. The fact they do it still to me is amazing. Would I blame a person for quitting and moving into say a software engineer job? No lol. I would lose my mind with kids ha.

I had "old" teachers that one said to me I'm ready to retire from dealing with you little shits. (Jr high) but I will definitely miss this. He was one of the good ones. That one teach is also anecdotal but man you gotta respect they get through each day. Even if doesn't show, I think they care more than most people think. To that I think there's a lot of go get em attitude in their tanks in order to do that for 20+ years.

That said, I'm glad you found something else that works better for you. How long were you a teacher before making the move?

@Friendlybro79: I taught for three years. People with the level of education that most teachers have generally do not work in jobs where they are micromanaged and have no autonomy for very long unless they fit the personality type I described.

A real "go getter" would be at home in an entrepreneurial environment or a challenging military environment.

Great definition. Successful is a great and interesting word. What's considered successful to you is clearly biased towards your opinion but that's totally ok because it helps you find your success. That said, is it not successful to go and get, for example, 25 years of new students year in and year out, and prepare them to go and get careers of their own one day? Certainly doesn't sounds easy to deal with kids all day and their crappy parents blaming you for everything. That is just my opinion and that's ok too.

I'm sure some teachers are lazy but software engineers? Impossible right? Ha. Listen you're entitled your opinion, and I do respect you being a teacher for a few years. We disagree on a few things and that's fine as well. Have a good night.

@Friendlybro79: Some teachers are lazy, but my point is that the skill set that a successful teacher has isn't the same as someone who's successful in the business world. Teaching these days is more babysitting and psychology than anything else.

The developers and product managers I worked with were not lazy. No doubt some are, but like I said, I noticed a big difference between the way they approached their work and the way my teaching colleagues did.

The difference is most Male students follow through with consequences from the beginning, where as many women teachers make threats of consequences at first without following through.

By not following through from the start, it sets lower behavioral expectations and more stress builds up over time until the teacher just has an outburst, often unfairly punishing a normally good student to set an "example" to get the trouble maker students under control. Those kinds of actions then turn the good students against them and make the class even more stressful.

Clear expectations, practiced routines, consistency, and following through with consequences are the primary aspects of good classroom management and lead to less stress for the teacher.

Well tbf Kids dont usually take women teachers seriously if they're just "chill." Doesn't mean they should be mean and yell at the students, but on average they do have to be stricter to get the same level of respect. & maybe they're mad that there's still a gender pay gap against them even tho it's a fucking female dominated field where nobody makes enough money. To be fair, I too would feel quite drained if I had to deal with 12 year olds. Especially with this new generation of smartphone zombies and social media addicts and fortnite gamblers and walking in minecraft shirts and overdramatic little girls. It's not something to go after.

Kids can be horrible. But all jokes aside, I respect the ones who do enter the field. They certainly have more patience and moxie than I do in that area, but I believe women are so conditioned into doing what they believe they “should” do like support roles that involve children and taking care of others, so much so, that they’re neglecting their own needs and desires. And women are akin to accept lower paying career paths which doesn’t help the situation.

They have allowed politics to supplant their natural callings as homemakers and mothers. Newsflash. Trad Wives are by far the happiest of women. They know where they stand, they understand the standards of performance and are predominantly secure. It goes back to women in the village. Multitasking IS women. Women in the Old West knew this. They had to defend themselves against Indians and Outlaws (they shot them) but their lives were worthwhile. Teachers accomplish nothing productive in life because they have lost their reason to exist.

I caution against you to say, “them”. I once said something similar about my sister and my Dad kicked the shit out of me. I also had a loving mother. I've had evil female teachers from 1. st to 4. th grade, then 2 more from specific classes from 5. th to 8. th grade. One of them was hated by absolutely everybody in the class and there was one badass stunt I pulled off. She asked me (in a hostile manner) "when do you go to bed?" and I responded "That is none of your business". The entire class went quiet. At that moment I felt the power transferring from her to me. I believe she tried to get me expelled too but that wasn't going to happen.

I wish I had balls like that way earlier in life and for much longer and that I would do that way more often.
