Most are not been serious about it which the major difference.
When Eminem for example say's a diss to someone on his track it may include homophobic slurs but Eminem is not saying them to mean he hates gay people, same way he also makes jokes about the other person been disabled it don't mean he actually thinks been disabled is funny.

The whole point of the song is he's ironically pointing out the lyrics aren't what he thinks and dissing people who take his offensive words seriously.
Just because he makes songs about killing and that don't mean he goes out and does it. That's the whole point. And just because he say's offensive stuff don't mean he agree's with it.
It's legit the very intro of the song that gets the point across.

And other rappers are the same they aren't using such words to offend people of that. Same way at school you would insult each other with such slurs but that's just cause it's what you say. It's not as if we hated such people.
Hell one of us was gay and eventually came out as trans, she never got offended because she knows that's not how we were using those words and she used them herself.
