Why Do Men (Yes, Only Men) Glorify Mass-Murder and Destruction (i. e. Wars)?

Question

Soldiers are  not  heroes. They're villains, agents of death and destruction, willing pawns of those in charge. Why do we (well, not me, but you know what I mean) praise their "sacrifice" and "service"?  Now, before anyone says something like, "But you women would all be speaking German or Japanese now if it weren't for our brave men in uniform", or something equally silly, let me just remind you that when I talk about soldiers, I mean  those on the other side as well.  It takes two to tango, and at least two teams to have a war, and it's a fact that without the support of the German Army, Hitler would have been just another windbag politician like Trump, and  we would not have had the Second World War.

well... there's a bunch of Israeli soldiers that are women and willing to be. Ditto Vietcong. So I don't buy that premise.

The key element I hear is... security. Not always the case, somtimes it's greed or envy or spite... it sure ain't love is it? Women can be party to it all too often.

Humans will justify to defend what they believe. That's the problem... emotional division. And to think the horror and slaughter it results in is off the charts. Hard to understand, but we humans will turn a blind eye to others for the sake of our own selves.

I'll be honest, I'm not a sociologist so I can't necessarily answer your question, though I do agree with your statements. I can still see if it's defense, though even in that case you can ask the question of whether something was done to provoke the invaders in the first place. But I don't know how anyone who starts a war, gets involved or someone else's war, or willingly signs up knowing they might have to kill people, can be praised like a God and DEMAND special treatment.

"Thank you for your service." WHAT SERVICE? That soldier you're thanking could be a war criminal for all you know.

Richard Ramirez was 100% correct when he said EVERY human has the capacity to kill. People don't hold back on killing because of their morals, they hold back because they don't want to go to prison or the electric chair. I have no doubt people, men especially, would kill all the time if they knew they wouldn't be punished for it. And joining the military is a way to do that. By the way, you know who taught Richard Ramirez how to rape and kill, his SOLDIER brother!

And while I can't necessarily comment on the biological reasons men are more prone to violence than women, I can say that certain cultures have way too much time on their hands. Look at the Middle East. It's like those people don't know how to live without war.

And look at Biden. He took so much pride in ending the war in Afghanistan only to thrust us into another war. The U. S. can't Iive without war either.

That girl from "License To Kill" was spot on when she said, "Don't you men know any other way?" Have you ever noticed how most of the negative stereotypes you hear about different groups are referring to the MEN! Women have stereotypes like gold digging and the occasional scamming, but drugs, murder, theft, rape, this is all things MEN do!

And I agree. I would rank soldiers only below terrorists on the list of worst people on the planet! And people wonder why I despise them so much. I might respect them if they were actually fighting for our freedom, but literally the last time an American soldier fought for OUR freedom was WWII. We killed Bin Laden, so what? Did it accomplish something? There are thousands more like him.

Oh... So You want to know where You're wrong? I'll give it a go.

First, this world is not heaven. The resources are scarce, and there are situations where it's just too few of some of them for some two parties in some region. Reaching an international agreement that will lead to internal civil unrest is unthinkable for any government.

Second, this world is not a fairytale. Even if we were willing to go for peaceful solutions, someone else somewhere else will not be willing to do it, and what's even worse, that person or group will be encouraged to voice more and more outrageous claims as we try to compromise each time. Thus, we need a standing force capable of discouraging such outrageous attitude and possible violent solutions for the conflicts that inevitably arise.

Third, the soldiers of the defending side are heroes. They are pit against a violent invading horde and face it without skipping a beat. They are the ones protecting all their compatriots from the horrible fate of being the victims of a brutal conquest.

Fourth, some women do support mass murder. Now, who is it that supports abortion as a women's right? Yeah, these feminists are women. Not only do they support mass murder, but they are also willing to inflict a lot of suffering and destruction to enforce their horrid views.

On a side note... It would be cute if more women spoke Japanese. It sounds so cute, especially the female speech within the Japanese language.

Hitler didn't just have the army. He had the populace of Germany, Austria, Italy, half France, and assorted other nations around the globe. It wasn't like only the army supported him. If it had been, he'd have been thrown out.

Biden and Trump are two sides of a coin. Neither can hope to unite America because both are divisive figures. Not unlike when Lincoln and Davis faced off or Cromwell and Charles 1st or any leaders in a war.

Soldiers go to war, not for glory, but to defend the homeland they believe in.

It's something in us as men we can't escape. A primal response to protect who and what we love. We choose the side we believe represents what we stand for. There's no hint of "Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria Mori" these days. Not in over a century. We will fight if we have to so our wives and children can have the freedom we grew up with.

You know, freedom to declare the soldiers of my grandfathers regiment who stormed the Normandy Beaches in 1944 aren't heroes.

Liberty comes with responsibility. Sometimes that means fighting a war to protect the weakest members of society who can't stand up for themselves.

War is diplomacy by other means. Politicians start wars and they can start wars because civilians support wars which includes female voters by the way.

There is no such thing as innocent civilians - they are in it up to the neck. I am not buying your female non complicity.

Soldiers go to war because the civilians tell them to and are often conscripted men who didn't make this lifestyle choice. Tommy never did call up Fritz and say how about we call up our mates and shoot at each other this arvo.

we , i and westerners, distinguish between soldiers who are a physical threat in contrast to unarmed civilians.
