Normally, I would go for Donald Trump, but if He starts a war with China, and He's really confrontational towards China, I'm going to be in serious trouble, given that I live in Poland. Russia would then reign supreme in my region, and while some Russians might be perfectly fine people, the Russian government is definitely not composed of such people.

I am conservative so I obviously have no preference for Biden. I'm not sure that Trump will be able to cross the finish line with all of the weaponization of the justice system being aimed at him. The only other viable conservative candidate that I see is Nikki Haley.

I hope that the rest of the states will do as Colorado and Maine have done by adhering to the Constitution and following the amendment (14?) that says anyone participating in insurrection cannot run for president or government office. That amendment should have been more detailed for those who don’t understand it or want to ignore it. If the Constitution is to be respected then all states would the same as those 2 states.

If the primaries were today, I would vote for Vivek Ramaswamy. Given how primaries usually pan out however, the Republican ticket is already pretty much decided before it gets to Texas though.

When the general election happens, I will be voting against the current administration regardless of whether or not they try to swap out Joe for someone else at the last minute. There are effectively no known Democrats I would ever support at this time, and that's unlikely to change without a massive culling and rebranding of the party.

@milyjohn I have heard that even if he is written in, if he is convicted, it wouldn't allow that as an option. To the validity of that claim, I do not know, but that was what I heard.

Regardless, it doesn't change my stance on believing someone else is needed. The country is already divided and I fear it will be even moreso, if not worse if Trump gets elected again because of resentment and spite that would be present.

Now in regards to getting a conviction, getting an impartial jury would be a huge issue. It would be exceedingly difficult to not have jurors that can remain impartial or be ignorant of these accusations and pending charges against Trump that can be twisted from influence. It would be no different if it was Hillary Clinton on trial. Same issue. A lot of bias and too much influence from media to really have a fair trial.

All I said was I don't see Trump getting the nomination or on the ballot because they will do everything in their power to hinder him during an election year. Some simple processes that should be quick to handle will be taken snails pace, and shit that should take time will be expedited and not given due process. That was all I was getting at. Sabotage, plain and simple.

I just saw on BBC that the North Korean leader is very upset over a loan he had made to Trump for over 2 million dollars, when he was running in 2016. He is waiting to be paid back. Trump used his Trump organizations to acquire this loan, so it didn't come up in our bank systems here. However--Jong Un is upset and has written to the US about it. Interesting how this will fold out.

And if you want to hold the Jim Crow laws - which were also ABOLISHED under a Democrat President, LBJ - as a measure of intent in 2024 I'll need to check just how old RFK Jr is. His father and uncle were instrumental in getting Johnson to repeal them. Both Democrats. Because they were among the worst laws America ever came up with.

The Crime Bill tried to deal with too many issues in a single law. Particularly incarceration. I know RFK Jr is supported by several organisations that he's personally supported over decades to help ex cons get back on their feet by providing jobs and training that the Crime Bill prevented them getting while inmates which have over 90% success rates of non-reoffending participants and work with addicts and homeless before they become targets for law enforcement.

There's very few people alive who were around when Jim Crow was passed and the number directly impacted by it falls every year.

30 years ago my marriage would have been illegal in South Africa because I'm white and my wife isn't. We wouldn't have been allowed to live in the same areas and my son would have been born a crime. My wife - a doctor now - had to get special permission from the government here to study medicine because non-whites were considered sub-human. This despite being the top student academically in South Africa at matriculation.

There's worse things than laws from the 1870s to consider when thinking who to vote for.

Kennedy resigned from the Democratic party because he's lost faith in the system. I'm not saying he's perfect, just that if you can vote in the next presidential election then even going and "spoiling" your ballot - when the vote was on paper you'd deliberately write "none of the above" across it - registers as a vote. Technically if enough papers are spoiled the election has to be done over. That's why the big parties want everything electronic - it removes the ability to spoil the ballot.

If it's down to Biden Vs Trump Vs Kennedy in every state - and that's a real possibility - then vote Kennedy. He resigned for his principles because the Democrats rigged the Primaries so Joe would win by changing how the votes were counted.

I respect where you're coming from with lost faith, I just would say not voting at all is interpreted as tacit agreement with the current administration. Even if RFK isn't likely to win, voting for him instead of either major party still sends a message that people demand a return to the Republic of the United States of America - it's never been a Democracy until about 15 years ago when "democracy" and "democratic process" became interchangeable terms when they're totally different concepts.
