I'm thinking the man in the High Castle scenario. Where if the British didn't surrender the Nazis having defeated the BEF have no opposing army in Britain to oppose 22,000 paratroops that dropped at night would secure airfields along with German army units. London would be easily seized. The Royal Navy would lose land bases and run out of ammunition.

Thus the Nazis would win the war having ended the Royal Navy's blockade of German sea trade. Through this the Nazis would gain the material wealth of the British, French, Dutch and Belgian colonial empires. They'd have access to British production lines and technology along with its armies. All stuff a long with being able to concentrate it's military against the Soviet Union Nazi Germany would have all the men and resources it would ever need for Blitzkrieg through Russia and no early support for the Soviet Union from British supplies which helped them hold the line in the early days of the war.

Marrying Princess Elizabeth would make Hitler the King of England and Emperor of the British Empire along with being Fuher of the reich and leader of most of Northern Europe. Ideologically it would make sense for the Nazis and the Winsors aka Saxe Cobalt family were more German than most Germans and England was considered very Aryan because of its anglo-saxon, Scandinavian and Norman routes.

But there was an opposing army in Britain, conscription had started in 1939, it hit 1 million by 1940. When a Regiment is sent overseas not all battalions are sent. Then you have the Territorial units along with the recruited conscripts. Yes 22,000 para would cause problems but dealt with. Apart from that there were and still are underground routes out of London towards various defence lines. From there to Canada. Even if captured, there were units set the task of ensuring important people did not get caught alive.

The conscripts were not armed or ready in 1940. They needed time to organise. The British army after 1940 was built around those professional vetreans in the BEF who returned. Officers and NCOs.

Did you read the bit about battalions, regiments left behind full battalions. Also that was total figures from 1939 when conscription started. Anyhow your question makes far too many positive assumptions and ignores defence rings and stop lines. That bases they were a lot of them would be easy to take. That oh radar would not detect the aircraft required to carry 22,000 paratroops, I think that’s around 800 to 12000 aircraft. For example with Crete, they transported around 15,000. So ignoring radar, night fighters, the fact the UK was prepared for paratroops as that was one of the greatest fears, ignoring a very short logistics line, and a bunch of other things including message decodes and traffic volumes. It was not feasible which is why it was never carried out.

The UK was prepared for paratroops because they had the BEF vetreans. The BEF weren't conscripts, they were professionals and part time regulars who had trained for years.

Nope, it was something that was sent out everywhere to all towns and villages with the bells communique.
This has been done to death with various ‘What if scenarios’, what you propose could not have happened, it’s as simple as that. The numbers, the ability to accurately drop sticks in the dark, the lack of any support weapons, the fact that they only had a relatively small number of trained paras then, the fact their were bogus airfields set up, that ultra was starting to be used (no means perfect but it was starting out). After Crete I do not believe the Germans ever used paras in numbers due to their casualty rate. Also the airfields had RAF Ground Defence branch (became RAF Regiment). Lastly England had VII Corps which was made up of Canadians, 1st Infantry and Armoured Regiments, also a large New Zealand brigade. GHQ reserve was the best equipped and manned but both Eastern and Southern commands had troops.

At crete. Outnumbered German Paratroops met dug in vetreans of the BEF and new trained conscripts, heavy weapons, aircraft etc and still won. The reason the nazis did do any paradrop operations after crete was because of the high casualties
