Reasonably important, yes.
There is a big gap between idealism and realism. Sometimes that pesky gap forces a compromise.
Nobody becomes president who is not highly driven and ambitious. That puts every one of them on the edge when it some to ethics. Anyone who is pure ethics and idealism will never make it that high up the ladder. They will be surrounded by hard core power mongers and need to be tough enough to deal with them. Not for softees regardless of whatever image they choose to portray.
I'm not sure if it makes a big difference now.
One might make more a difference in a way that the other one doesn't make, for better or worse.
My thinking is that if the fate of a country depends on electing a great president, it's doomed.
Nope. Long as you're not a sex offender and don't try to remove my rights, I don't care if you're Hannibal lector
Privately, I don't care. Publicly they should be ethical to the voters.
Yes they actually do. I don't care that Bill cheated on Hillary a million times, because it doesn't affect me. Stealing my money to pay off some deadbeat's loan, does affect me.
Without commenting on the obviously provocative content of what you said, a person who is willing to cheat on their wife is possibly willing to cheat so to speak on others as well in somewhat different ways. If that person stole from you directly that would be one thing, but if they just spent tax dollars in a way that you didn't agree with, that would be a political matter but not an ethical one.
I truly believe Biden is loyal to Jill. He also sold out strategic oil reserve to China. I feel sorry for your childlike view of the world, but Biden is letting criminals into the country. When they come to invade your home and kill your loved ones, lecture them on ethics. What a feather in your cap.
Yes I know even now as we speak one of those terrible criminals is doing gardening at my house. I can tell he's a criminal because he's actually trimming the bushes without asking their permission. First. I can see that you've bought into the myth that all illegal immigrants are terrible criminals, but in truth they're people that just forgot to fill out forms that take a year to get from the government. What you really are instead is a racist.

The president of the United States is supposed to be representing the people of the United States if I vote for somebody I want him to have morals values and ethics.
Nowadays they're crooks they do something and laugh about it because they get away with it the stuff going on in today's world with our elected officials back in the '50s and '60s and 70s it would not have flown they would have been impeached. But now they do something wrong right in front of us and they don't care because they know nothing's going to happen to them they're in everybody's pocket and vice versa
certain ethics are important like not using power for corruption. not saying "you ain't black" is important but other ethics, are less important than good policy and good leadership.
trump is "real" he says his opinions! that is what people appreciate and prefer
It is important, but it isn’t as important as people think.
Ethics don’t mean anything when your people are starving and dying.
Ethics don’t mean anything when you’re on the verge of a Civil War.
Ethics don’t mean anything when your violent crime is so high.
Ethics don’t mean anything when your country or its economy are about to fall apart.
Ethics are important, but there are a lot of things higher up on the ladder of importance.
We can't even agree as a population what actions make up ethical/non ethical.
Yes, I'm tired of the Machiavellian's who say "it doesn't matter if the president is moral or ethical as long as he does what I want."
If he's not ethical in his personal life how can you trust him to be ethical in his professional position?
Despite his choice in running mate I still believe RFK Jr is a more ethical and moral man than Drumpf or Biden.
If it was important for a President to always be ethical, there wouldn't be too many countries surviving in this world. Sometimes, you gotta be sneaky.
Depends on what ethics we are talking about pretty leading question so fairly obvious which way this is heading
Still depends on the ethics.
No it genuinely depends on the ethics. Certain ethics are not ethics but people insist they are so if we are talking delusional ethics then very much not something we want in a president. If we are talking actual ethics then very much something we want in a president. However without knowing which ethics are being utilized it is impossible to give an answer to this question accurately.
Yes it is important but competence and intelligence are more important. The world is a dirty place.
The kind of people who want to be president will never be ethical
A fairly elected ethical president who believes in a Christian Constitutional Republic
Yes, but there won’t be one on the ballot.
it's a fallacy
A Constitutional Origionalist President.
