I don’t quite understand, except that guys complain about it as extremist feminism.

1 yThe #metoo movement started out with women coming forward accusing Hollywood bigshot Harvey Weinstein of rape, with this guy having been so prolific that women were saying "You were raped by Weinstein? Me too!"
Unfortunately women took it way too far and a bunch of innocent men had their lives ruined because man-hating feminist harpies demanded that we believe all women regardless of how old or implausible their claims were. The best high-profile example everyone would be familiar with is Johnny Depp, who was in truth a victim of abuse at the hands of Amber Turd but had his career ruined (bye bye Jack Sparrow!) because people had to believe Amber Heard because she was a woman. Only after a weeks long defamation suit and untold attorneys fees was Depp able to clear his name. In the meantime the woke left has weaponized unsubstantiated allegations against their enemies such as Donald Trump, Brett Kavanaugh, Andrew Tate, Russell Brand, and Julian Assange.
Because of this I now assume a woman is lying when she accuses a man of something unless she has evidence or I know her personally.

Not sure Depp is the best example. Seems like there was some mutual abuse going on there. Apart from anything else he was an alcoholic at the time.

Depp was trying to get away from Heard and she wouldn't let him leave. What was he supposed to do? Not get physical?

Rehab would be a start

Yeah but that has nothing to do with heard keeping him from getting away from her.

@SolitarySolace I guess not. Why did she win the UK trial, though?

@SolitarySolace I would not be surprised if the UK courts were influenced by political correctness. The English love moral indignation. My problem with this whole case is that it started out as "Johnny Depp is the devil" and ended up as "Amber Heard is the devil". My guess is the truth is somewhere between those two extremes.

And just so you know, I'm not some blue-pilled male feminist. I really loathe most feminists. With the exception of the handful who do try to put themselves in men's shoes, and the ones fighting for e. g. women's rights in Afghanistan etc.

@Cheapskate Johnny Depp had many witnesses testifying on his behalf while Amber Turd just had her sister. Depp freely admitted to drinking a lot but that doesn't make him an abuser. The UK courts are a sick joke, they literally just passed a law in Scotland to lock people up for 7 years for "hate speech".

1 y“Me too” is a movement claiming to have been created so that victims of rape and sexual assault can come out about their experiences in a safe environment.
However the “me too movement” wound up being abused and used to make false allegations that had ruined and even ended the lives of many innocent men.
The false accusations became so common people are starting not to believe actual Victims now.
You should do your own research though as I am a biased source of information.10 Reply

1 yIt's not very complicated...
MeToo was a social movement against sexual abuse, harassment, and rape etc... and encouraged victims to publicize their experiences of sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
However , tons of women ended up using it against innocent men who never did any sexual abuse to any woman in their lives... this not only affected the innocent men , but also affected the genuine victims of sexual harassment

Actually it is confusing when you have better ways to spend your time than just blindly following social media and politics. This must’ve happened a generation after mine, because we didn’t have so much carry on when I was younger.
1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The ‘Me Too’ movement was founded in 2006 by Tarana Burke to support survivors of sexual violence, particularly young women of color from low-wealth communities, to find pathways to healing. The movement’s vision from the beginning has been to address both the dearth of resources for survivors of sexual violence and to build a robust community of advocates and allies. In October 2017, the movement went global as the #MeToo hashtag went viral and survivors across the world came forward about their experiences with sexual assault.
Tarana Burke has visited many countries since then. And as the ‘me too’ movement has grown, many countries have asked to connect with efforts in the US. Their requests have sparked the vision of a global community that centers survivor leadership through deep cross-country relationship building and practice sharing.

1 yit started as a way for women who were shamed about being sexually harrassed or assaulted to come forward or for other women to come out in support of them.
Unfortunately, poltics ruined it. "Me too" meant "Beleive women," but when it came to accusing politicians, it meant "believe women who accuse politicians in the OTHER party"
For example, GOP only believe women who accuse democrats, and democrats only believe women who accuse republicans unless several women accuse a democrat like Cuomo.

Anonymous(36-45)1 y#Metoo Originally started off as women finally coming forward about abuse and rape they suffered in Hollywood. It was a fantastic thing, because a lot of disgusting people were finally going to face consequences..
And then, As with anything that feminism touches, it got turned into something perverse, where women were falsely accusing men of things, leading to said innocent men to get jailed or worse. It also found women bold enough to publish books like "How to destroy a man" a literal instruction manual on how to take advantage of #metoo to destroy any male.
Its also lead men and boys to turn away from women and see them as a threat rather than seeing them as our other half. It strengthened MGTOW, which was never good.

1 yIts a lot of women realizing, now having the courage, finally being believed, ... they were sexually harrased, abused, exploited, raped, ... by music, movie stars/producers, and famous men in general.
It started with only a handfull and more and more women came forth with their stories of criminal acts they were the victims of. Which happend over the last 50 years.10 Reply
1 yThe me too movement was a push from shit women to force everyone to accept all rape accusations without proof and charge for it. As a result rape accusations sky rocketed and men rightly started telling women to fuck off because they weren't about to risk a rape accusation because some whore regretted her choice the next morning

1 yPerpetuated false rape and abuse accusations which ruined the lives of many innocent men all over the United States without due process. Made the women who actually went through rape and abuse unbelieved because too many women were falsely claiming for fame and money.

1 yIt started because a few women, mostly associated with famous celebrities, started coming out and saying they were raped 50 years ago, and then other women started coming out and saying, "ME TOO! I was also raped 50 years ago and am just NOW coming out, because I'm short on cash."
