Why are Hispanic slurs more accepted? Asian slurs too? Even slurs for women seem more acceptable. Does it seem that mostly white men are fair game for slurs?

Is ALL of society just insane with this thin skinned political correctness?

Seems that comedians are the only ones anymore who can say it all.

In a way, it's kind of absurd. When someone reports "Then he used the N-word", everyone knows what "the N-word" is and it pops right into their head. So why is it never to be uttered?

Black people say "nigga" all the time but white people aren't allowed to.

N**** is merely the Hispanic word for black. We are encouraged to say black but not N****. However, ignorant whites corrupted in into "ni**er" as a pejorative.

In recent years, woke, white liberals have gone so far as to ban the book Tom Sawyer because it contains the word, even though it is in an accurate, historical context. I am opposed to erasing history.

At the same time I am absolutely sensitive to the feelings of African Americans, not so much for slavery, but for the extreme denigration and persecution they suffered during the following 100 years of racial segregation.

So I would never refer to someone as a ni**er and I am offended when it is used negatively by others.

But there are times when it is appropriate, such as in historical books and novels, or when quoting people. And it can be helpful when used in comedy to lampoon racists. The movie Blazing Saddles is a great example.

A good rule of thumb is if you have to ask, don't say it.

People who understand black culture will have no problem getting away with it no matter what they look like.

And it's one of those intuitive kind of things so when you say it, between the situation, timing, how you say it, body language.

If you don't understand black culture and say it, they're gonna look at you like who exactly does this person think they are

The whole point of slurs is to dehumanize someone, and you only dehumanize someone in an effort to gain power over them. Why? Because if you saw them as equal to yourself, then you would feel bad for doing shitty things to them (ie discriminating, forcing out of a job, slavery, raping, etc.). White men have pretty much been doing that to every other race and sex in western history. I don't know about you but being called a Cracker doesn’t really hit as hard as being called an n-word for a reason.

Slurs aren't acceptable in public. It's one thing to joke privately with a friend or have it in south park.
And why? Because words are subjective. And someone is going to take it in the wrong way because to them it is. Does it mean that should be policed? Well kinda but also no. But who's to say what's subjectively right? If one can't answer that then it's best not to unless you know the people your around.

I knew someone who is gay he had no problem with me saying the F-word but that's cause he knew when I said it what it meant. It had nothing to do with been against gays but if you didn't know me who's to say it wasn't?

Why is color even an issue... When we were made we were made so our bodies would adapt to any kind of harsh extreme conditions that this planet has to offer no matter where we lived and in time our bodies adapted no matter what color you are our bodies of our ancestors adapted to the environment that they were in each and every day it's just like going out and getting the sun tan this summer it should not be even an issue.. . But there are people in this world that have to put labels on that tan or that paleness. . ... The whole thing is totally ignorant. Because there's hateful people that make something out of nothing just to make them feel better it's bullshit

I feel like anything can be classed as a slur if it’s said with malice. Otherwise it’s just a word, basically like curse words. You don’t say it just willy nilly because it’s a bad word but it depends on the intention behind it.

I’d say society tells us which slur is the worst. But as rap music and black culture keep adopting it the less hyper that slur becomes.

I have no desire to say it. Unless singing a rap song. Which is rare.
