Has society molded you not to trust easy?

I believe that this is a bubble that everyone has to eventually burst and I want to see how many people still live in this bubble, as time goes by it seems like the world has adjusted to being less trusting towards others, if I'm not mistaken I believe there was a point in time where people would take leaps of faith with people to start relationships, leave the front door unlocked, have guests over, invite people over, even just socialize more with strangers but it seems like now people have adjusted to not trusting anyone and live by that completely, just seeing someone walking up to you or even in your direction on has you on your Ps and Qs.

Ot wasn't just trust that allowed these persons from another time leave their doors unlocked and the keys in the cars ignition with the cars doors unlocked it was the fact that they knew nothing would happen and the car wouldn't be stolen and no one would go into the house snd steal their possessions. it was actually

It was a much safer era that they lived in the reason for this is most persons then fwared God snd lived by Christian principles and commandments such as thou shalt not steal and persons were honest and trustworthy and the crime rate was very low, a lot of these features have been lost as persons lost the faith and their fear of God and became nonbelievers. As much as we hate to admit it, it is true.

not exactly... and not society but life and experience

I grew up at two very different places... one was quite easy to trust MOST people around, because there's always been a great sense of community but at the other place, people were way more guarded and reserved with one another

I have been this way since I was a child. I can't remember myself ever trusting easy.
My parents are also sort of guarded when it comes to people they don't know well, so of course that had an impact on me too.

Not really. My mother burned the trust out of me before i could interact with the outside world much. Of course, the rest of the world isn’t exactly fighting to earn it back.

No. I trust but my trust is lost very easily. So I guess you could say society has molded me into having a quick trigger finger. I keep my circle small. I have a thousand acquaintances. But I can count my friends on 1 hand.

I guess we have to think capitalism and social media that have made people more individualistic, materialistic and unempathetic. But I believe it's much worse in America/the western world, compared to less wealthy/developing countries
