What impact will the attempted assassination on Trump have on his election chances?

Historic incident. Also prayers for the innocent spectator who was senselessly murdered by that psycho piece of sh*t who almost succeeded in changing history in a horrifying way. The world would have erupted in chaos if he was a slightly better marksman (he was so close but thank God not close enough).

I wish the shooter was still alive so we could find out what motivated him and if anybody else was behind it. The FBI says he is a lone wolf. I can buy that given all the Lee Harvey Oswald types out there. There are enough people domestically who are so deranged over Trump I could see them acting alone. Especially given that he’s up in the polls against Biden. The irrational hatred he has received since 2015 is unprecedented.

I think this going to help Trump all but solidify his victory in November. I know a lot can happen from now until then but still this is so crazy. Also Trump’s defiant response right after he got shot will be forever remembered as his hardcore resolve. Similar to how Teddy Roosevelt was shot once in a failed assassination attempt but still gave a speech before accepting medical treatment. Bullets aren’t stopping Trump either.

Also even though Trump was only shot in the ear most people would be in shock or scared sh*tless in that situation. I hope Trump leaves his damaged ear cartilage as is (no plastic surgery) after he heals. Similar to a wrestler or mma fighter who has cauliflower ear it’s a badge of honor but for Trump even more so. @trump2024

Just FYI I was NEVER a “maga Republican”. Never directly endorsed Trump. I wanted someone else to with the primaries. Never donated to his campaigns until very recently after his conviction (I believe that was disgusting banana republic lawfare bs and he was convicted in a kangaroo court). I found Trump’s rhetoric often annoying at best and divisive/inflammatory at worst. Up until recently I only liked him because his defiance of the radical left (which I hate).

But Trump INSTINCTUALLY showed bravery and defiance after being only 2 inches from certain death. He did this as 78 after having a long padded/protected lifestyle. He asked “where are my shoes?” to the secret security staff, pumped his fist in air and yelled USA! He really does love our country and that was a moment of truth for him. I highly doubt most people could be that resolved/brave in a moment of chaos like that. That is what makes Trump a leader.

I dont think it will make any difference. It will make people who were already going to vote for him more loud but the illusion that it gives him a boost will make those who understand the danger of project 2025 more resolute about making sure it does not happen.

This is a very romantic take on a guy who simply pissed enough people off over enough number of years that someone finally had enough and took a shot at him. That said, I too am glad that the shooter essentially missed.

If a bullet strafed your ear would you get up and raise your fist defiantly a few seconds afterwards? I like to think of myself as tough in real scary situations (I am a ex pro mma fighter by the way). But even I don’t know if I could be that tough/defiant immediately after being literally 2 inches from instant death. Could you?

One thing is for damn sure i highly doubt Biden would have reacted that way.

I just wish leftists could give credit where credits due for once. Not saying your above response was that bad. But you CAN acknowledge that someone you highly dislike can occasionally do something right, have brave/positive moments, etc.

For example I was never an Obama fan but I had to respect his gift for eloquence/charisma and his isolated victories (e. g. getting rid of Osama Bin Laden). That doesn’t make me a leftist to acknowledge those moments.

People CAN respect how Trump reacted to this incident and still vote against him and dislike him otherwise.
